Canyonlands is open year-round, 24 hours a day. Each district has its own visitor center with operating hours that change with the seasons. Some facilities close in winter.

Operating Hours & Seasons
Island in the Sky Visitor Center Island in the Sky Visitor Center is open daily, early March through late December. Backcountry permits are issued up until one hour before closing. Features include: exhibits, book and map sales, backcountry permits, general information, wireless internet, and park rangers on duty. The visitor center is closed December 25, and from late December through early March. Current Hours: Open daily 8 am - 5 pm
The Needles Visitor Center The Needles Visitor Center is open daily from early March through November. Features include: exhibits, book and map sales, general information, wireless internet, picnic area, and park rangers on duty. Water and restrooms are available year-round. The visitor center is closed on Thanksgiving Day and late November through early March. You need backcountry permits year-round. In winter, you can self-issue backcountry permits outside The Needles Visitor Center. Current Hours: Open daily 9 am - 4 pm
Hans Flat Ranger Station (The Maze) The Hans Flat Ranger Station at The Maze is open daily, year-round. Features include: rangers on duty, general information, a small sales area with books and maps. There are no services, food, gas, or drinking water at The Maze. Current hours: Open daily, year-round 8 am to 4:30 pm | ||||||||||||||||||||
