Shafer Trail in Canyonlands National Park to Close for Construction July 18 through July 28
Road construction on Shafer Trail at Island in the Sky district of Canyonlands National Park will result in its closure to all travel weekdays from July 18 through July 28. The road will be open on weekends.

Tourism to Arches and Canyonlands National Parks Resulted in $309,000,000 in Economic Benefits and Supported 3,822 Local Jobs in 2016
A new National Park Service (NPS) report shows that 1.6 million visitors to Arches National Park in 2016 spent $188.8 million in communities near the park. That spending supported 3,100 jobs in the local area and had a cumulative benefit to the local economy of $251.6 million (a 16.3% increase from 2015 and an 82.3 % increase since 2012).
