Entrance Fees

You can pay your entrance fee at entrance stations, visitor centers or online at pay.gov

Admission to Canyonlands National Park is good for seven days. You can updgrade a weekly pass to an annual pass within seven days of purchase.

Private Vehicle - $25.00

Admits one private, non-commercial vehicle (15 passenger capacity or less) and all its occupants.

Motorcycle - $15.00

Admits a private, non-commercial motorcycle and its riders.

Per Person - $10.00

Admits one individual with no car. Typically used for bicyclists, hikers, and pedestrians. Youth 15 and under are admitted free.

 

Annual and Lifetime Passes

You can purchase annual passes for parks in southeast Utah as well as annual and lifetime passes for all federal lands at entrance stations or visitor centers. All passes admit one private, non-commercial vehicle to Canyonlands National Park.

Lifetime passes also provide a 50 percent discount on camping fees at Island in the Sky and The Needles campgrounds.

Southeast Utah Parks Pass - $50.00 Valid for one year through the month of purchase to Arches and Canyonlands National Parks and Hovenweep and Natural Bridges National Monuments. Admits one private, non-commercial vehicle or the pass holder and three persons (16 years and older) when per-person fees are charged.

 

 

2017 Fee Free Days

National parks across the country will waive park entrance fees on these dates in 2017. Mark your calendars for these fee-free days:

  • January 16: Martin Luther King Jr. Day
  • February 20: Presidents Day
  • April 15-16 and 22-23: Weekends of National Park Week
  • August 25: National Park Service Birthday
  • September 30: National Public Lands Day
  • November 11-12: Veterans Day Weekend

Commercial Tours

If you are providing these services, you must have a current, signed commercial use authorization to enter the park.

Non-commercial Groups

A non-commercial organized group is a group traveling together such as scouts, a club, a church, or other organization that has organized its own itinerary. Group members may arrive in vehicles owned by the organization or in privately owned vehicles. Groups may also have hired a commercial driver or commercial vehicle for transportation services only.

Non-commercial group fees (per vehicle):

  • Vehicle capacity of 15 or less: $25
  • Vehicle capacity of 16-25: $10 per person age 16 and older, not to exceed $40.
  • Vehicle capacity of 25+: $10 per person age 16 and older, not to exceed $100.

You may use Annual and Lifetime passes. A pass may cover immediate family members or up to four people traveling with the group, depending on the pass.

Educational Fee Waivers

Accredited academic institutions may apply for an Entrance Fee Waiver.

All individual sites are first-come, first-served; group campsites must be reserved in advance. Read more about camping at Canyonlands.
