Ignas Rubikas

I am currently a final-year student at the University of Oxford, reading for BA Psychology & Philosophy degree. I am also actively involved in various educational activities (e.g. managing project "Academic Brother") and engaged with Lithuanian community abroad (board member at WLYA, president at OULS). I'm seeking to get work experience after my studies and get an MA degree in education or social and public policy afterwards.

    National Students' Academy is an informal educational organization for the most talented high school students in Lithuania. I have co-organized evening events for the 10-day summer session, and supervised Academy's students during that session time. I have also contributed to founding the Academy's Alumni organization.

    Lietuvos Atgaja is a popular creative children summer camp. I have supervised a children group (aged 10-16 years) 24/7, being responsible for all their activities and safety. In addition, the team of supervisors were responsible for creating and running daily schedule activities.

  Simple and easy-to-use website that contains a test, which helps to choose MPs and parties that best represent the user in the issues that are important for him/her.
  
  Recently, the manoSeimas.lt introduced a widget, which represents the Parliament's votings in an easy-to understand and attractive form, and can be integrated into any website or shared with others.

• XIV World Lithuanian Youth Congress

  The XIV World Lithuanian Youth Congress (WLYC) took place on 1-14 July, 2013 and gathered together representatives from various foreign Lithuanian youth organisations. Hosted in a different country every three-four years, the WLYC has enjoyed a long and storied past since it was first held in 1962. During each WLYC, the representatives work to establish the mission, guidelines, and projects that the newly elected governing board will carry out during its four-year term.

• "Academic Brother"

  Coordinating the academic mentorship project "Academic Brother". The project seeks to enable Lithuanian pupils who decided to study abroad to get into the UK universities that best correspond to their level of ability and motivation. This is done by bringing current Lithuanian students from the best UK universities together with pupils in Lithuania. The project is two-stage: 1) Oxbridge applications (summer-fall period); 2) general UK applications (fall-winter period).
