Because when I was younger, my biggest dream was growing up to be Sailor Mars. And today, I can be Rei-Chan, cosplaying her. ♥

When I was in high school me and a friend who I loved like no other adored this series. He would call me his beautiful Sailor Jupiter. He died of heart failure at 16 and I vowed to always be strong and true to my friends as she is. I cosplay as Makoto in his memory. May our stars one day meet again, Andy. I miss you.

Sailor Moon is pretty awesome. Naoko Takeuchi's artwork clearly inspires my anime artwork when it comes to drawing. Funny that Iv'e never seen an episode, and I enjoy playing the Sailor Sneshi maker. Naoko Takeuchi really defined the magical girl anime, and she also made Usagi an icon in the anime industry. The picture below is a fuse bead Sailor Moon to express my love for it.

I loved Sailor Moon before I even knew what "anime" meant...Or any other words for that matter. And it's the reason I love anime so much now. I can tell how much I've changed since childhood just from how I view the show differently, from "ooh pretty!" to "wow those characters and themes are deep and inspiring." I've always loved Sailor Moon, and find ways to love it in different ways every time I watch. As I turn 18 this summer, I can't wait to enjoy Sailor Moon in her new style for the first time as an adult.

Sailor Moon was the first anime I ever watched through completely. It was around the same time as Dragon Ball ... but Sailor Moon was miles better.
I have since then read the manga and re-watched the series with my brother in law. I plan on getting the combo box sets once they come out this fall.
In a way I can relate to Usagi. My grades in school were not the greatest, however I did have a lot of support from my friends. Love this anime.

Sailor Moon is important to me because it was my childhood. I grew up watching it around 9-10 years old. I cosplayed Jupiter because she is so strong and brave. Each episode teaches a lesson and I love that. It empowers girls to be them selves and be brave in any situation. Also when I was little my friends and I would always play Sailor Moon when we were walking home. It was tons of fun. I still watch it to this day and used to draw all the characters too. This show is just so inspiring and important too.

Growing up, Sailor Moon's friends became my friends and inspired me to fight for my dream of owning a restaurant, like Sailor Jupiter. This year, I'm starting my first culinary program alongside my first cosplay in her honor.

Sailor Moon has been my top favorite anime for almost 20 years now. It was also the first anime that I ever watched and had a crush on one of the characters! (Ami)! Since then I have watched the anime so many times I've lost count, and try to watch the series once every year and personally love the ending more in the manga but both endings are great! I am happy that Sailor Moon Crystal is going to be based solely on the manga! But plan on watching through the series on Blu-ray as the Box Sets are released for it!

Beautiful transformations and flowing hair are musts for a magical girl. However, beauty is not Sailor Moon's true signature—it's her kind heart. She's strong for the ones she loves and has boundless determination—but she's not fearless; she's known to be a crybaby at times. Despite her fear, she grows into the strongest sailor soldier in the universe. It's our dreams and hopes that make us women beautiful and strong. Sailor Moon has given that hope to women like me that want to change the world. Because of her, I have the courage to love and to believe.

Sailor Moon means so much to me. Having been both my first anime, manga, and fantasy role model, I learned many things. I learned the importance of friends, how to understand and help others, and to always do what's right. Sailor Moon has inspired me for many years, since I was six, and will continue inspiring me for years to come. Naoko Takeuchi's work will forever be my favorite series. As can be seen in my picture, I love cosplaying the characters, but I also love reading the manga, and watching the anime. I am forever dedicated to Sailor Moon!

Sailor Moon was one of my first favorite anime series I enjoyed watching back in the 90's. I love the characters and how they made me feel, the storyline kept me hooked, and the art was magnificent. This inspired me to take up drawing and animation as my dream job. Years later, I graduated from college and earned my Bachelor's Degree in Animation. I'm very happy with my choice. Someday, I will create an animated series of my own and share it with the world.
Also, Sailor Moon and I share the same birthday, June 30th!
Happy Birthday, Sailor Moon!

Strength, grace, passion and wisdom are only a few of the meaningful attributes we have come to treasure after the years spent with our dear Meatball-head. They have taught us the truest gift in life: happiness found in time spent with friends. Each Scout, through their struggles and inner conflicts, have taught us that no matter what distance, emotion or future may come between us, we would still be together, holding each other close in our hearts, as though we were never torn apart. So to you, Sailor Moon, and all of the Scouts, we say "Thank You. For everything."

It's scary to think that I was only 13 years old when I bought these dolls back in 1995! My very first Sailor Moon purchase! I'm the type who wakes up 15 minutes before I have to leave, but for Sailor Moon I would wake up at 6AM, just to watch and tape all of the episodes. I wasn't a collector yet, so these dolls saw a lot of play and hair-styling and adventure. I'm 32 now and have held on to them for all of these years, but they're still an important part of my collection.

Sailor Moon started a friendship. It all started one day during lunch, a group of girls looking at a set of stickers of a particular series and realizing they had a shared interest. From there came more stickers, more merchandise purchases, cosplay, fan made Sailor Scouts and sleep-overs watching all the series - dubbed and subbed. Though there were us and downs, some splits in the group and different paths but hey, those paths eventually crossed back again. Sixteen years later, that friendship is still going thanks to that magical show.

Sailor Moon is important to me because it reminds of the bond I have with my sister. Like Usagi and Rei we argue and fight but could not survive without each other's strength and support. Sailor Moon is also also something we both share with our children, her daughter pretending to be Sailor Moon and my son pretending to be Tuxedo Mask just shows how Sailor Moon can be inspiring to all generations. To me Sailor Moon means family.

I cried when it was announced that VIZ was releasing all of the episodes. I CRIED REAL TEARS. I've been a Sailor Moon fan now for about 17 or 18 years but I didn't know how much of an effect the series has had on me until now. Even through collecting as much merchandise as I could get my hands on through the years, to going to cons and geeking out with other moonies, it's now that I realize just how much of my life has been touched by Sailor Moon. Thank you!

Sailor Moon was the first anime series I ever watched. I was 6. It made me want to improve drawing because I wanted to draw those beautiful characters, and I would imagine their adventures. I was happy during those times since Sailor Moon got me closer to who today is my best friend. We would draw together in a notebook that I specifically reserved for drawing. My friend is not with me now, but she still remembers how passionate we were with Sailor Moon. Her favorite was Mercury and recently I sent her a keychain I got for her.

A scared child with no hope
One day finds a moon kaleidoscope
Bathed by color and magical light
Stood a girl protecting the night
Why in darkness was she brave?
When I longed to be saved
Pain and loneliness consumed my core
Until I learned of moonlit lore
Courage and love transformed the heart
Giving strength for a new start
Purifying all my evil darkness away
Encouraged me to face the day
Peace was now a welcome friend
All for her to gladly defend
Waiting for the end of June
Comes a beautiful and new Moon

Sailor Moon is important to me because it reminds me that whenever things look there darkest there is always hope. Whenever I'm alone Sailor Moon reminds me that there is always a friend there for me, I just have to pick up the manga or turn on the anime. This helped me become the person I am today, and has had an impact on all aspects of my life. Most important of all it inspired me to grow my hair really long and also to start cosplaying which has given me one of my most important a creative outlets.

I remember waking up early to watch Sailor Moon before school in the late 90's. I started collecting anything Sailor Moon related and even printed out coloring pages from online! My first cosplay was Sailor Neptune. I eventually colored a wig by hand (no teal wigs existed back then), shoes too! I cosplayed Michiru three more times (two school uniforms and a manga dress). I was thrilled to finally get the autographs of some of the original cast! Sailor Moon is a big part of my life and I don't think my love for the series will ever die.

This is just a taste of what happened to my collection after I discovered how to buy from Yahoo!Japan. I remember a conversation in middle school with a friend asking if she knew about a show called Sailor Moon. That was 19 years ago. I was so passionate in high school, I was dubbed the Sailor Moon queen for my knowledge on the subject. I cried when I saw the trailer for the re-issue dvds and blu-ray and I talked my library into purchasing the manga so a whole new generation can be empowered by Sailor Moon.

I had a horrible childhood and Sailor Moon taught me some things. Moon taught me I am not alone. Mercury taught me perseverance. Mars taught me passion. Jupiter taught me it is ok to be strong. Venus taught me confidence. Pluto taught me taboos can be broken to save the universe. Uranus taught me it's ok to be masculine. Neptune taught me that one can never have too much talent. Chibi Moon taught me to hang onto my inner child. Saturn taught me disability does not mean powerlessness. Sailor Moon taught me love, acceptance and to never give up.

Sailor Moon, to me, is a journey back to childhood. Whenever I watch an episode or movie of my favorite show, I am reminded of the good old days when I first saw them as a kid. The nineties would not have been the same without Sailor Moon. It is what inspired me to pursue a career as an artist, encouraged me to dream, and taught me that being a girl is a special power, and not a weakness. Sailor Moon will always hold a special place in my heart and without it, my life would not be the same.

Sailor moon was my favourite show growing up and I used to watch it with my mom. A lot of people at school even knew I loved it. I had a Sailor Moon watch with a clip on face that sometimes fell off. It was always returned to me because people at school knew it was mine. I am so excited about it coming back. It's wonderful to see something I loved as a child returning for new and old audiences to enjoy.

Sailor Moon means opportunity to me because the series introduced me to the anime genre, helped me build a lasting friendship with my best friend, sparked my passion for the Japanese culture, introduced me into making my own Sailor Moon jewelry, got me into cosplay, named my first cat "Mina," and helped me start my career in the anime industry. The series will always be a comfort for me and remind me of all the good times I have experienced in life. I'm very thankful to the series and being a part of my life.

I've always been a huge fan of Sailor Moon! I've been watching it since I was about 4 years old, and I've loved it ever since. And after 18 years of waiting, Luna brought me a transformation brooch. <3

Sailor Moon keeps surprising me. At 7, I was awestruck first seeing the show: it was so...different from other cartoons I'd seen! The art, the fierce girls, the romance! I wanted that! I wanted to be that! So, I learned to draw. I'm no artist now but that step helped shape the creative lass I am today. Across the years I've forged many bonds with people who grew to be my best friends through shared passion for SMSM. I've finally mustered courage to cosplay that which I love, even though I don't fit the measurements of the Princess.

I'm so grateful that the day is coming when we can have the complete Sailor Moon story available to the US. It was a source of pain for me as a kid that I didn't have all the pieces to the story I loved, even though I tried my hardest to curate it on my recorded VHS videos. I treasure these tapes to this day, but thank you VIZ for making this happen for us finally :)

In the attached photo, I've had the same ChibiUsa costume, DVDs, and cat, since I was a kid. I've lived in a number of places where, no matter what friends I make, we have that connection - we all watched Sailor Moon . Sales exec, home maker, gym trainer, nurse, web designer, military - we all loved it, and it's a common thread that's joined us.I'm proud that a new generation is now able to watch what we did, love what we loved, and a new generation is going to love the new Crystal series.

Growing up, I was very introverted. My dad was in the Navy, and we would uproot and move ever couple of years. It was hard to constantly make friends then loss them, and I often felt alone. Then I discovered Sailor Moon and my eyes were open to a whole new world and idea. I loved every character, every adventure, and fell deeper into a world where I could imagine my own characters and adventures. Because of Sailor Moon I learned about Japanese culture, manga, comics, and art. Without this wonderful series, I wouldn't be the artist I am today.

Sailor Moon is very important to me because I am an only child and the only person I could ever look up to was her. She was always there for me when I had a bad day and good days. I remember I would dream of going back to Hollywood Video to rent the dvds and watch them over and over again! I would sing the intro and jump on my couch! Also that was my first anime I ever Otakued over. As a result my love for anime grew.

For the last 20 years, watching Sailor Moon has brought me so much happiness! Even on the worst of days, all I have to do to feel better is put on an episode. The dream of being a magical girl is such a fun escape from reality and Sailor Moon is the greatest nostalgic comfort. I just love her!!

Without Sailor Moon, I wouldn't have learned to truly love myself and my flaws. See that bunny cookie there? All me. Serena would be proud. Tardiness is my middle name and Sailor Moon taught me to appreciatee even that. My friend baked the most beautiful cookies ala Sailor Jupiter. And the best part is we gave those cookies as a moving away gift for our dear friend. Friendship and baked goods, what's not to love?

I would not be who I am today if not for Sailor Moon. Growing up in a broken home with broken health could have resulted in a broken girl. However, this series taught an alternative. That inside you, a heart crystal can shine bright. You can fight. That women can save themselves. That in the 90s, there is one story in the world where a queer teenage girl can be the hero... because she can be or do anything, no matter what she's up against: If she doesn't give up. That is what it means to be a Bishoujo Senshi.

Starting my Sailor Moon fan site in my teens helped me discover a career I love in my adulthood. I have a beautiful home, marriage and life thanks to the career I was able to build from the knowledge I gained from my Sailor Moon fan site. I am so thankful for Sailor Moon because without I I have no idea how my life would have any meaning. Sailor Moon helped me discover my purpose.

Sailor Moon is…
The treasure I found at the age of 4.
That game we played on the field at recess because we were the "Sailor Scouts in another life".
That hairstyle I wore every day from elementary through middle school.
The nickname that was given to me because of said hairstyle.
Those dolls my poor mother saved every penny to buy for me.
The names I give my electronics (Luna, Artemis, Luna-P[c]).
The inspiration that made me start drawing.
The music my eyes tear up to.
The treasure I hold on to at the age of 23.

Sailor Moon shows females aren't weak. That I don't have to be bullied. That I can stand up for myself and others I love. To stand up for love and justice. I had a cat named Luna because of this show!

Growing up with Sailor Moon since seeing it as a 7 year old in 1996, I've grown and learned so much from this show that provided a gateway to anime and manga. The wonderful modern fairy tale helped shape the person I am today. It inspired me write and draw my own stories, and helped me find all kinds of friend through her. 100 words isn't enough to talk about how much this show changed my life. She is my inspiration and hero. I'm sure she'll continue to be for years to come as I continue my own fairy tale.

The moment the television announcer exclaimed, "Next up, the pigtailed fighting teenage super heroine, Sailor Moon!", my life changed forever. My obsession with Sailor Moon began in 1996, and it would only continue to escalate as I spent my free time repetitively drawing her. Eighteen years later, I'm a fine artist claiming the core cause of my passion for the arts and female empowerment began with my lifelong love for Sailor Moon. In celebration of Sailor Moon's 20th Anniversary and Sailor Moon Crystal, I'm sharing my newest oil painting of the pretty guardian herself, our Sailor Moon.
