I'm loving this show and so far all the jokes are landing for me. Although I may be easy to please seeing as how I got a nice laugh from Rie Takahashi voicing a blue haired girl named Akua.

Probably my favorite show so far this season, very funny with lots of undertones about how love is what you choose to make it, who is involved doesn't matter

Also my favorite show of the season, love me some fast pace comedy. Dunno if they'll be able to carry this for 10 more episode (or however many there is) but it's good for now.

The opening song is also one of the catchier ones this season. And dat imouto could also get a pretty high ranking in an anime imouto contest, y'know if there ever was such a thing on the internet.

I think you're being way too hard on Episode 4. The show can't be nonstop comedy forever, that's just not sustainable. There's an attempt being made to flesh out the characters, if they didn't do this we'd get complaints about how no one has backstory or motivations. I thought the pacing was fine, the real about Shikimi was obvious yes, but that didn't make the fact she's cool with basically murdering someone for pleasure any less jarring. It was still uncomfortable to see her stabbing and grinding stakes into Seiji. I get that the episode is no 10/10 but it feels like you're being way too critical. |

Do you find it as uncomfortable every time Akane stabs Seiji? |

No, but that's different because hers aren't done with the malicious intent to permanently maim Seiji for her own satisfaction. Also Akane doesn't have that same creepy sadist vibe that Shikimi does. Also having read ahead the Reviewer might as well buckle up because the show does transition from nonstop comedy to a little more story and relationship focused as time goes on, the comedy and gags are still there but nowhere near the constant level they were in episodes 1 and 2. |

I was also fine with this week's episode. Seems like business as usual for anime. it's ok to point out that it's formulaic or whatever but following a formula doesn't mean it's terrible, it just means it's not ambitious. I am perfectly ok with a goofy harem anime not being too ambitious however, as long as I get a few laughs out of it and it's not offensively poorly written, then it's doing its job as simple entertainment just fine.

Gotta be honest here, having read the manga and knowing what Shikimi was like at her introduction, I wondered how the anime would handle her more, uh, extreme tendencies.
Is it telling that they showed enough both visibly and audibly that I was wincing as Shikimi was trying to use Seji as a pinata? NefCanuck |

Has anyone noticed when Akane goes into murder mode, that they play part of the old them of the Black Hole movie?

Glad it,s back to normal, I couldn't have handled another episode like last week.
Fun fact, the chief angel mode is actually more accurate of what angel look like (according to old testament at least) than what we normally consider angel. |

I actually found his angel form scarier than the cat form. Seems like a fairly high ranking one considering the six wings (Seraph I think?).
It was funny that Guri's crab costume had shrimp written on it (and I think she referred to it as a shrimp costume) despite being clearly a crab. |

Guri's costume bit was the perfect unforeseeable break of tension, I also have to give notice to the scene soon after where she recalls what Shikimi looked like and we get the badly drawn demented picture with the squeaky toy sound effect.
I actually think that the episode maybe set Guri as a very funny part that she is set to replace god, her absurdity goes beyond cupid that dresses like a shikigami. |
