These beautiful reproductions of the Stations of the Cross are printed, cut, and assembled by hand in Steubenville, Ohio. A set of 14 stations brings a visual dimension to meditating upon the passion of Christ and is an ideal devotional item for the Lenten season. Many customers use these outdoor image plates to build their own prayer walk, minister in mission fields overseas, or create a stations of the cross Eagle Scout project. We use these same plates as the centerpiece of our popular outdoor cedar station shrines.
Available in three sizes, each image plate is assembled by hand at our shop in Steubenville, Ohio. The plates are comprised of a semi-gloss vinyl print mounted on ACM, a material commonly used in the small business world for outdoor signage because of its durability and low cost. By using ACM in devotional shrines and prayer walks, we consider this common form of outdoor signage to be baptized with a renewed purpose and character.
ACM plates are UV-resistant, guaranteed for 3-5 years of perfect image fidelity with minimal fading. For devotees who live above the 40th parallel, or who are able to face their stations to the North or South, many more years of perfect image fidelity are possible! Nonetheless, all things in this world will fade with time, and even the ideal conditions of minimal sunlight will eventually result in fading, even if this is decades down the road. The original set has hung in a parish in Steubenville, OH since the 1800's.
The Shrine holding the 4x6 image is 9" wide by 11" tall. The 6x9 is 10" wide by 15" tall, and the 8x12 image is 13.5" wide by 19.5" tall. The Shrines have a 2.5" to 3.5" overhang to help protect the image. We also have just the aluminum image plates available on this website for sale if you wish to build your own style shrine! This set of 14 Stations provides a great source of meditation upon the Passion of Christ and are the perfect addition to the Lenten season.
