With Young Sheldon in Year 1 of a three-season pickup, CBS has secured its top four comedy series — which also are the four most watched comedy series on broadcast TV — for next season: #1 Young Sheldon, #2 Ghosts, #3 The Neighborhood and #4 Bob ♥ Abishola.

Also for the second consecutive year, a decision on Thursday sophomore comedies B Positive and United States of Al, both from Young Sheldon EP Chuck Lorre, is being pushed to later in the season. Last year, it came down to the wire, but both sitcoms ultimately were renewed. Of the two, United States of Al currently has a slight edge

The Group B performers from “The Masked Singer” were feeling grateful on Wednesday night’s “Giving Thanks” episode, but after making their wildcard debut, Beach Ball was immediately bounced from the competition. The two-faced toy tried to get the party started with a performance of “Party in the USA” by Miley Cyrus, but the off-key duet led them straight to an unmasking ceremony. Reality TV superstars Honey Boo Boo and Mama June were revealed to be the secret celebrity singers inside Beach Ball.

“It was definitely very hot,” Honey Boo Boo admitted during their unmasked interview with host Nick Cannon. “We had to move the mouth, make sure we don’t roll off the stage. It was a lot!” When asked who was singing in the front and who was in the back, Honey Boo Boo quickly pointed to her mother and said, “She was in the back of the ball.

Jerome ‘The Bus’ Bettis Is Dropping By ‘The Neighborhood’ in a Guest Role
The Neighborhood is welcoming a new face to the mix as NFL legend Jerome “The Bus” Bettis stops by in a special guest role. The former pro-baller will be playing himself in the November 8 episode, “Welcome to the Ex-Files.” When Cedric the Entertainer‘s Calvin unexpectedly runs into Bettis, he’s thrilled to make a connection — until he discovers that the Hall of Famer shares a history with his wife Tina (Tichina Arnold). As teased in the exclusive photo above, Bettis appears to be attending a party that also includes Calvin, Tina, and their neighbors Dave (Max Greenfield) and Gemma (Beth Behrs). Calvin seemingly appears to be introducing Bettis to the group and the smile on Tina’s face and shock on Gemma and Dave’s faces are clear. ‘The Neighborhood’: Tichina Arnold & Beth Behrs Tease Their Sexy Halloween (Video)
Bring on the candy, scares, and spirit that make Halloween so much fun on Monday’s episode of the CBS comedy The Neighborhood. The November 1 installment digs into a common question that Tina Butler (Tichina Arnold) and neighbor Gemma Johnson (Beth Behrs) confront head-on in the episode. “Our characters get into the ‘am I too old for sexy Halloween?’ debate,” details Behr. As Behr and Arnold tell TV Insider’s Jim Halterman, despite the extra time the episode took to shoot given additional set decorations and costumes for the cast, the actors didn’t let that spoil their good time. “What was fun, though, is that we were together as a cast,” says Arnold, who also teases how Cedric the Entertainer‘s Calvin reacts to his wife’s revealing get-up for the holiday. This episode may keep things light, but getting into the heavier and more dramatic subject matter is foundational to the comedy.

Why ‘The Neighborhood’ Showrunner Meg DeLoatch Drew From Chrissy Teigen and Personal Experience for Pivotal Season 4 Episode
Spoiler Alert: Do not read if you have not watched “Welcome to the Porch Pirate,” the fourth episode of “The Neighborhood” Season 4.

Meg DeLoatch, the new showrunner of “The Neighborhood,” knows there are many fans of the CBS sitcom who don’t follow the behind-the-scenes machinations or read news headlines about the show. So when she stepped in to take over the fourth season, she didn’t want to do anything that would disrupt the story that had been playing out on screen for three seasons already. But she did want to go deeper with it.

One of the biggest examples of this has already played out the fourth episode of the season: In “Welcome to the Porch Pirate,” Gemma (Beth Behrs) experiences a miscarriage and struggles to allow herself to grieve. The show does not depict the act of losing the baby, but comes in after in order to “lead with emotion,

Monday’s The Neighborhood revealed not only that Gemma miscarried Baby No. 2, but that Tina had also suffered a miscarriage before she became pregnant with Marty.

Penned by new showrunner Meg DeLoatch, the emotional half hour was as much about how Dave and Calvin responded to their respective losses as it was about their spouses. The episode culminated in the Johnsons and the Butlers coming together to memorialize Gemma and Dave’s unborn child.

2021 Emmy Awards review: Joy, laughter, and head-scratching moments that didn’t work … how refreshingly normal
The first in-person Emmys Awards show since the dawn of the pandemic was almost certainly going to be a celebration no matter the quality of the show. Thankfully, CBS and the show’s producers put together an event that brought a truly welcome sense of awards ceremony normalcy — warts and all — that has been conspicuously missing in recent years.

See 2021 Primetime Emmy winners list in all 27 categories

There were laughs. There were moments of genuine emotion. And there were those bits that left you wondering what audience the writers were targeting. There were also missteps and moments that just plain didn’t work. In other words, it was just like almost every other Emmys ceremony … complete with Conan O’Brien.

The show opened with host Cedric the Entertainer performing a rousing and lyrically altered version of the late Biz Markie’s classic “Just a Friend,” with assistance from a plethora of

Bright Colors, Bold Choices Reign on the Emmys Red Carpet
If there was any doubt about the excitement about a post-pandemic re-emergence and the return of the Emmys to a live, in-person show, look no further than Sunday’s red carpet and its joyful riot of color. With a limited guest list and a full vaccination mandate in place, attendees stepped out in every shade of the rainbow— and with nary a mask in sight.

From Kenan Thompson’s candy-floss pink suit and matching bow tie to Seth Rogen’s orange blazer, the menswear represented some of the most adventurous choices at the show. Velvet tuxes also had a moment, with Bo Burnham in a navy look, and Jason Sudeikis wearing a teal Tom Ford number. Ditching his signature hat, host Cedric the Entertainer also stood out in a bright turquoise suit designed by stylist Jason Rembert. Chris Sullivan was a scene-stealer in a custom tiger-print suit by Courtney Mays,

‘The Neighborhood’ Boss Teases a Season 4 Bombshell for Calvin & Dave
If Calvin Butler (Cedric the Entertainer) thought Dave Johnson (Max Greenfield) was too close for comfort before, wait until this bombshell drops! On Season 4 of the sitcom The Neighborhood, Dave takes a genealogy test, revealing the neighbors are distant cousins. “Calvin is less than thrilled,” says showrunner Meg DeLoatch, who previews what else is new on their California block. • Morning sickness? Dave’s pregnant wife, Gemma (Beth Behrs), is ill 24/7, says DeLoatch. Cue the toilet humor! • Calvin adds “pimp-my-ride pro” to his résumé as his auto shop gets into high-end design, while wife Tina’s (Tichina Arnold) side-hustle baking business finds success. Also, conflict mediator Dave takes on a celebrity divorce that “puts him on Hollywood’s radar,” DeLoatch adds. (Credit: Monty Brinton/CBS) • We finally meet troubled local (and butt of many a joke) “Crackhead Victor,” via an intervention, says DeLoatch: “Everyone tries to get Victor back on track.
