To produce heatset and sheet-fed plates we use Apogee Prepress software and plate printers implementing thermotechnology made by AGFA-Gevaert. Two large-format plate printers - Avalon VLF - and one B1 plate printer - Avalon-N - ensure due production of printing plates in case of possible failures. For colour proofing we use two EPSON large format printers and for imposition proofing a dual-sided extra wide plotter AGFA Grand Sherpamatic. All colour proofs are measured and conformity to the standard profiles is checked with specific software. Printed files can be sent to the FTP file server or directly to the file upload and page approval system Apogee Portal.

2/3 of Estonian newspaper circulation is printed in Kroonpress. The dailies Postimees, Õhtuleht, Äripäev, Pärnu Postimees, Sakala, etc., are household names in Estonia. Our newspaper press, consisting of 5 colour towers, is the most powerful in Estonia. As one of the section is adapted for heatset printing, we can also offer a hybrid product – combined printing on newsprint and coated paper.

The heatset printing equipment used by Kroonpress consists of three presses. The 48-page KBA Compacta 618 is our newest (2008) and most powerful press. Thanks to the width of 1450 mm and print speed of 15 m/s it is the most powerful press in the Baltic States. In addition we print with a 16-page Goss Baker 15 press and 16-page Goss Universal 45HS press. We can offer our customers a wide choice of formats with a bindery, sheet-fed press and bonding and packing possibilities all located under the same roof and with the quickest full service.

In 2006, Heidelberg SM 102-9P5+LX  - a press equipped with a B1 format sheet turner - was purchased. There is an inline sheeter CutStar installed in front of the press which enables sheets to be cut straight from the roll. The advantages of this system are the more favourable price of roll paper compared to flat paper and the fact that we can successfully feed thinner paper (starting from 65 gsm). In addition we offer folding, dye cutting and UV varnishing.

The bindery consists of three wire stitching machines and an adhesive binding machine from Müller Martini and Heidelberg. The total capacity is up to 40,000 copies/h in wire binding and 8000 copies/h in adhesive binding. The post-treatment line Sitma enables up to five different products to be inserted in the main print and wrapped in plastic film. We can also use film covered with advertising print. The addressing system Domino prints addresses consisting of up to 6 lines on each copy and sorts the products according to addresses in postal areas.
