The musician Samantha Echo was born Samantha Margulies into a Jewish family, but found herself drawn to otherworldly spiritual practices as an adult. In this short documentary, the filmmaker Jenny Schweitzer explores why Echo pursues Wicca and life as a subway musician. "When I sing in the subways, I feel like I'm becoming one with the environment," says Echo. "My relationship with Wicca, which is really grounded in earth worship, relates to my general connection to things that are unseen."

This is the ninth film in a series about New York's subway musicians.
