Just how excited are children of the ’80s and ’90s about the fact that classic MS-DOS games are now availabe for play, for free, through a browser?
Check out this CBC/Radio-Canada story, which includes a Storify that has had more than 387,000 views since it posted five days ago. More than 2,000 games are available on Internet Archive.
And it works! You can play “Pac-Man” on your computer, with your arrow keys and space bar. You can also play “Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?” and “The Oregon Trail.”
It won’t make you dump “Angry Birds” or “Call of Duty,” but these games will give you a new appreciation for where gaming is today, and for your keyboard.
