It's definitely what I like the most about the show, and the foundation that holds everything else up when the individual parts are a bit weaker than they should be. |

I hope this is not going to far off-topic, but how many of us watching Twin Star Exorcists think that episode 50 is either going to be:
1. A total, definitive end to the show, to the point that doing a second season might be a near-impossibility in terms of plot or story. or 2. An ending which could tie up most of the loose ends, but be open-ended enough, perhaps with some sort of cliffhanger, that it could easily be a jumping off point for a second season, assuming there's still more manga source material on the way? |

Depends on what happens in/to the manga. Since they already had the need to make filler, I'm guessing the manga isn't that far ahead of the anime, so by the time it reaches 50, it probably won't have much if any material left. So if there is a second season, it won't be for a while, depending on how long they want to make it and how much filler they want to make. And that is assuming it gets a second season at all. And of course if the manga ends by the end of the anime's run, the anime will decisively end too. I don't think that will happen but still.

Unless they have super high hopes for the series (which is possible considering they are doing 50 episodes) then they'll probably just give it a anime only ending. The manga only releases one new chapter a month so it's going to take ages for it to come out with enough material for a second season.
Then again they may just pull a Full Metal Alchemist and say "screw the manga, we'll just do our own thing". Which is pretty much what has happened at this point. There are more episodes planned in the anime than there are currently chapters of the manga. |

#RevengeForLionbe So there´s any manga readr that at least can see these fillers asa good expansion of some concepts from the manga? CAN SOMEONE ANSWER THAT HERE? Watching the leads to learn how to handle a child in the form of Sae, and showing how the Basara act as they feel more like humans is definetely good expansion, even if the plot so far feels repetitive |

I'll bite. No, not really. All of these random filler Basara just ruin the mystique that the Basaras originally had. Kamui had a relevant connection to Benio, and as the first Basara expanded the TSE universe while offering new possibilities. These filler Basara are just random minibosses that stand around and act kooky to fill superfluous airtime. And as for humanlike Basara, spoiler[Higano and Hijirimaru did far better at that than any filler we've seen thus far.] Sae being baby practice for Rokuro and Benio is decently entertaining, but with the vast number of "romcom leads get a kid" arcs in anime it really doesn't bring much to the table. Once the novelty wears off - and it's already worn off - then the audience is just stuck waiting for the kid to bail after their tragic backstory hits. If this arc had stuck to one Basara, or had actually given any meat to the one-sentence-every-other-episode-foreshadowing of the ever so very mysterious Kuranashi, or had provided escalating and continuous plot development between episodes then I might actually be enthused for it. Instead, it's a cheap and barebones excuse for "Rokuro and Benio, but with Amusement Parks/Baseball/Boardwalk Concerts". I enjoy watching Twin Star Exorcists, not Twin Star Insert Filler Template #531 Here. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Also wow was that episode a piece of crap. I WILL RUN OUT HERE AND INEFFECTUALLY THROW THIS BASEBALL AT THE KEGARE AND THEN PASS OUT NEVERMIND THE FACT THAT THERE'S A SENTIENT RV WHO CAN RUN THEM ALL OVER, OR THAT THE TWO TRAINED EXORCISTS APPARENTLY CONCENTRATING SO HARD THAT THEY CAN'T NOTICE A HORDE OF KEGARE NOTICE A BASEBALL PLOP TO THE GROUND OR THAT THE KEGARE MAGICALLY DISAPPEAR THE MOMENT THEY'RE SEEN LIKE BOOS FROM MARIO |

Now that the Basara has got the power up, he could be more trouble then he was with his twin.

The part that I'm really disliking about this arc is how it makes Rokuro and Benio look pretty much incompetent and weak, even with Resonance. I dislike the new OP style as well. The first OP was my favorite. The second ED was good, too.
I'll keep watching though, but am hoping this arc resolves itself soon. |

I had a feeling that Sae wasn't human and that we could lose her sometime during this series.

Sorry but this filler needed to be larger, or at least develop everything well in its 8(now 10) episodes, but first larger. There´s some good world-building they didn´t have before, but the repetitive monster-of-the-week storylines damage it a little.
Also, they need to end with the next manga arc up to chapter 33. I think that in the end they will mix canon and non-canon |

If it was only a feeling then you still have a lot more anime to watch. Also the Mayura episode was good, and it's nice to see Shuzenzappa in action. |

So are Kuranashi and Spiderman going to show up later or are they just gone forever? I'd hope for the former for closure, but assume the latter.

I'll admit that the Dragon Spot arc did make Kinako a little more tolerable, but I still find him to be possibly the most annoying mascot character in recent memory. For me, this episode did little to correct that. In fact, that the episode was focused on my least-favorite character is probably why I found it a chore to muddle through.

Can someone see if in the script writing department, is Yoshiaki Sukeno, author of the manga involved with this series? Because it´s feeling more like a companion piece to the manga, instead of "it deviates from the manga". And good thing if it continues to do it.
With whatever is gonna happen in the next episode, we may see some development from Arima, as up to chapter 34 of the manga, he has little development despite being an important figure in this series´ universe. I think he´s more a comic relief rather than a mentor figure. Note: I heard that Kinako appears in manga chapter 35, so I think this chapter was for making that connection posible. |
