I imagine you're not being entirely serious but this, uh, really isn't serious. I'd write "it's just porn" but this isn't even porn. |

Nioh is the first game I plan to buy at full price in a while. The combat system is overwhelming at first, but it is some combat when you get a handle on it. It's take on the stamina gauge really add's a layer of depth and also prevents sloppy play from the player. It could tone the difficulty down of the earlier enemies, which are just ridiculous overpowered with them killing you in 2 or 1 hits (even Dark Souls wasn't that brutal).
Otherwise am eager to get my hands on the final product. |

Hey, the more virtual breasts get groped in doax3, the less real breasts get groped in the public transportation services.

To be clear--VR porn? Totally cool! Folks can get it on any way they want. It's just SUPER weird seeing something this close to it as an officially licensed product on a Sony console. |

That is something I've always been hesitant about when evaluating Dark Souls. Sure, enemies hit hard but it mostly boils down to how pragmatic the player is, only having fights one on one, and seeking the safest path to victory. And if all else fails you can just grind your way to victory. With Nioh that just isn't possible. Enemy aggression in on a different level and combat is way more complex and fast. I actually went through the entirety of the beta and there wasn't a single boss I beat on my first try. Heck, the boss of the second level killed me at least a dozen times before I built a strategy around hit and run tactics, slowly chipping away at her. Still, the game is shaping up to be great and I eagerly await its release.

It was actually brutal enough during the Alpha Demo that they toned it down somewhat for the Beta demo along with adding a tutorial.....though apparently you still get some level 1 players who get their asses kicked at the start of the of the first level of the demo. Once you level up and become more acclimated to the controls it becomes a cake walk, though it can still get difficult if you get into a battle with more than than 1 enemy.
The bosses aren't really meant to be beaten on your first try unless you already know how to beat them (at whatever level you are) and know how their attacks work. Which can shave off most of your health instantly the 2nd Boss can steal your health to heal herself along with paralyzing you for instance. |

I'll just be interested in a VR environmental interactive world. I'm not ready for anything more than that.

The Nintendo Direct at least the Japanese one was pretty good, although Super Mario Maker for the 3DS is complete trash without online features (Nintendo just gutted what Super Mario Maker was all about), but I can't wait for Puyo Puyo Chronicle (please have a stage for this at TGS, Sega), Ever Oasis, Pokemon Sun and Moon, and Tank Trooper. I'm also interested in RPG Maker Fes but primarily for the assets and the fact that I can play created games without owning the software, I want an asset pack similar to how DS and DS+ got one for MV.

Can't wait! I didn't expect it was really going to come Sept 6th, so when they confirmed it it was awesome news!
Yup, lol. It's not like it's a surprise what this is, and it's not even "porn." The first controversy article I saw was Polygon's clickbait of an article lol. Edit: Though I guess now there are more lol. Looking forward to trying it out since I have the game Last edited by DangerMouse on Thu Sep 01, 2016 11:56 pm; edited 1 time in total |

I'll be playing Trails of Cold Steel II shortly myself! I actually just beat CS1 last night. When I had bought CS1, I didn't realize there was a CS2 hot on its heels. I would've beaten it a few days ago, but dammit, my PS3 froze on me during the very final battle! I went ahead and watched the ending on youtube, then went back and actually beat it, because I remembered things carry over, and I could sure use that.
I'm only getting into the Trails series myself. It's not too confusing though, each Trails set is its own story arc in a single universe. There will be easter eggs, but you can jump in at CS1 without any problem, I sure did. I am going to acquire Trails in the Sky on PSP soon though. And I've finally decided to get a PS TV, so I can play Trails SC on that or PSP (but there's other things I want too, Vita is a RPG and VN machine). I may get a proper Vita later, but I can't afford the whole thing right now. |

Well, this is the first time I've heard of the DoA VR thing. I'm not opposed to this thing existing so much as the "Don't" and "Stop that!" reactions of the girls (or at least Kasumi). Heck, even something softer like "Quit that!
On the plus side, looking forward to picking up the new Phoenix Wright when it releases! I'm tempted to try out the demo, but on the other hand, I want my experience to be fresh and spoiler-free. |

I know right? I immediately go to my last run on Nightmare so I can collect all but one trophy (that stupid cancel 100 enemy arts one, which is too tiresome to do at this point). My save file is all ready to go for CSII.
I know what you mean. I just finished my third run on Nightmare like a madman, abusing the fast forward option, completing the student tasks and just steamrolling through the bosses to get to the end and create my final save file for the next chapter. The real beauty is finding and knowing those easter eggs. Cold Steel has one in particular that's a photo cameo of a character from the city of Crossbell (which you never visit), but it's from a title that still hasn't been localized (Ao no Kiseki). There's a direct reference to Dogi from the Ys series and two characters in particular are references to Legend of Heroes: Prophecy of the Moonlight Witch (can you guess which two?). |

Dark Souls 3: The Ashes of Ariandel
games
The latest DLC for Dark Souls III sends Dave Riley to the Painted World of Ariandel, where he can't shake the feeling that he should be having a lot more fun with all this.
― Calling the Souls expansions “DLC” does them a disservice. Not at all similar to the micro transaction character skins and map addons the term calls to mind, Dark Souls' Artorias of the Abyss and Bloodborne's The Old Hunters are...

ERASED Blu-Ray 1
anime
Erased's first half delivers an interesting take on a time travel murder mystery. Rebecca Silverman breaks down this new deluxe release.
― Many people have a moment they wish they could return to in order to do just one thing differently. Sometimes it's just to say good-bye to someone who won't be coming back, but maybe it's for a larger purpose, like to save a life. For Satoru Fujinuma, that moment ...
Answerman - What Is That Short Screen After The Opening?

Horimiya GN 5
manga
Horimiya continues to delight in its fifth volume of this angst-free look at a sweet romance. Rebecca Silverman takes a look.
― Of all of the many wonderful things about Hero and Daisuke Hagiwara's romance manga Horimiya, one of the best is its lack of melodrama. There are no huge dramatic reveals, no histrionics, no panels oozing with overly tense anticipation. Instead there's just Hori and Miyamura...

Scum's Wish GN 1
manga
Before its anime adaptation comes out this winter, Rebecca Silverman takes a look at the dark world of sex and self-hatred in this very unusual romance.
