Yeah, Wataru's far and away my favorite thing about the show. I think he's managed to make me laugh every time he's been onscreen. (I also love how his athletic frames are the same color as Rei's - as if the inspiration weren't already obvious enough.) Unfortunately, as the team expands, we'll probably be spending less time with him. |

This is a definite joy to watch. I'm liking the characters but Mr. Toe Touch steals the show.

I was honestly surprised at how great the first two episodes are. Even the technical quality is excellent. I'm pretty sure the cheer scene from ep.1 was rotoscoped, but I could be wrong. Excellent work either way. I'm definitely looking forward to more.

I watched the first episode, and was like "well that was cute."
Then I rewatched the first episode with my friends, which made me pay attention more, and went "okay this is REALLY cute." Then I watched the second episode and now it's my favorite of the new premiers this season - or at least, the one I'm the most hyped to see more of right now. Hooray for college dorks! |

so lets talk about pairings since that is probably what the series is going to end up fueling a lot of the fandom for this show.

All I wish is for the prejudice to please stay out of this show, but meh, that's unlikely... So far, this is a very interesting watch. Yeah, it's about a group of boys wanting to do cheerleading, but, so what? If women can do MMA, then isn't it more feasible for dudes to do dancing? Oh, yeah, I'm not a fan of Sugita but he's awesome in this show.

I keep expecting it to come from Bando's sister, but so far, she's still sort of teetering on the brink. |

I always like it when a show I wasn't expecting to like much just reaches out and grabs me in the first episode.
The college setting opens up paths for the show you wouldn' t get from yet another high school show, and for me Wataru pretty much stole the show from his first appearance. Sugita Tomukazu makes the character sound deathly serious, but in a goofy way, and that amuses me no end. So far, so good. |

I really like these characters. Obviously we don't know much about ladybug guy or curry guy yet, but the first four guys all have such distinct, relatable personalities and individual reasons for wanting to join the team that you don't see in most sports anime. Also, blue hair guy never stops smiling, but not in a stupid way, and I have no idea how they are pulling that off without making him totally annoying in the process. I expected to like this show, but not nearly as much as I do so far, and it's completely due to the strength of the characters.

It must be the Tono effect. I thought Lauren said:
I'm wishful that the guys will have distinct personalities that get built on, but with only 12 eps or so, by the time they introduce them all the show will be done. |

So many things grabbed me about this show. First, male cheerleaders; then the designs; the fact that it's college, and not high school; that cheerleading is an actual sport and I haven't seen anything like it before in anime form.
I'm looking forward to all the characters to come. |

When I first hear of this show, I thought that its premise was an interesting and unique one. After watching the first episode, I'm happy that the studio & staff also managed to present it with solid animation, voice talent, and musical score.

The chibis in the ED are pretty darned adorable. And while I'm thinking about it, I like the OP as well. It gets the old blood pumping just like cheerleaders should.

If this show had some actual animation (episode 3 was outright terrible in that department), it could have been the next Free. The characters are lots of fun, and their struggle to build a cheerleading team is quite engaging.

Doamygar D offers simple but endearing riffs on classic super robot staples, two minutes at a time. Nick Creamer investigates.
― It's a little surprising to me that a show like Doamygar-D would get a western release at all. The show is unabashedly insular - starring a young Kyoto confectioner known as Daijiro Kyougoku, it riffs on super robot cliches from nearly half a century ago, mixing them with s...
