Am I the only one that's experiencing a killer slowdown on ANN? Pages are slow to load, and the contents of the edit box often lag far behind my typing.

It is not just you. ANN has been slow for me for several months. I really cannot remember a time when it was not slow. The slowness is not in the rate of data transfer, but rather in the time that is required for the server to start sending a page after I click on a link. Most of the time it is barely noticeable, and I suspect that this very slight delay is cause by Cloudflare checking the request from my browser. Sometimes, fortunately not often, the site is painfully slow to the point of being unusable. When that happens I wonder if they are being hit by another DDoS attack. Yesterday had a few bad times but today has been good. |

It's always been a little slow, but this last week or so it's been positively glacial.

I've requested that the ad-provider remove all video ads from those spots.
Hopefully it won't happen again. |

Hooray! (Once it finally happens, anyway.) We just don't seem to have good luck when it comes to video ads, they always end up being the most resource hungry possible. |

The ads are the worst. Site almost unusable, pages becoming unresponsive, and crash/refresh if I try clicking on the ads to pause them.

I'm also having trouble with those ads at the bottom of the page. Even trying to type this now, I have to pause and wait for the text to pop-up.
I've never had any problem with them until about 3 days ago. I'm often up in the middle of the night and to have these ads suddenly start up is jarring. (And no way to pause or mute them.) Thanks for any help. |

Yeah, I'm typing this from what's essentially a beefy gaming rig, and yet those ads are absolutely bringing my browser to its knees on a daily basis, and frequently flat-out crashing it. I don't use automatic filters on that-browser-extension-which-shall-not-be-named as a matter of course, and I've never added any filters for ads on ANN, but I need to make an exception for these videos. The site is nigh-unusable with them there.
