Why is Re:Zero so popular? I mean it doesn't look bad, but from I've seen and heard, there doesn't seem be anything that really stands out about it.

Seems like Taboo Tattoo hasn't fully taken over the Chaos Dragon spot. I wonder if Rewrite will end up battling over that bottom spot in the end. I'm guessing One Piece is on filler right now, since it's not usually that low...
Really? That's certainly unusual. If anything, what this show does is "stand out". I'm a few episodes behind now, but if nothing else, it is defying expectations. It sometimes feels more or less like the whole story was created as a way to very graphically torture the MC. Definitely not something that is typical for a light novel fantasy series. |

I used to like Zero at first when people weren't so crazy about it. Then I got bored (just when people got crazy about it.)
My eyes are on Zesteria, Alderamin, and Mononokean. Alderamin did well. |

Re:Zero is probably popular because of how the show is treating a cliche trope to make it slightly fresher than standard alternate world shows. It's not my taste (And yes I did give it a try, 13 episodes in fact) before I ultimately dropped the show since I didn't like any character except for that blonde librarian girl and I found the plot to be too boring in my own opinion (seriously, that early mansion arc was incredibly tedious). The show has an insanely large fanbase (as seen on r/anime) so I can see why it's been #1 for so long.
Personally, I'm okay with the rankings for the most part, but I feel like the Morose Mononokean is way too low. Seriously, #24? It's a nice slice of life/supernatural show that reminds me of a brighter Natsume Yuujinchou and I feel it deserves more love. My favorites of the season so far are 91 Days and Mob Psycho 100, with Saiki Kusou no Psi Nan close behind. Sweetness & Lightning would be higher, but the way they're doing the whole student/teacher thing reminds me of Usagi Drop which is not a good thing. |

These rankings are terrible IMO. For example, Battery is an awful show and yet it is higher then DAYS which is a way better sports anime and Berserk .. seriously? Battery better then Berserk? Just more of a reason I don't take the reviewers of this site too seriously.

Funny thing is it wasn't actually a filler episode but more like 80% of it was built on recaps showing how the crew met (which they've done before) and very little actual information on what's happening with the new arc that was supposed to start on that episode which is probably what most people are not happy about
It's not actually the reviewer's reviews these rankings are rated but some method[url] https://en.m.wikipedia.org/

Please read the entire page of the article, so you can correct yourself regarding how these rankings work, and who is doing the rating here. In fact, just reading the first two paragraphs would've told you all about that. |

I can see why people like Re: Zero a lot even if I don't like it as much as most of them. It's a fine show that's subverting enough tropes to feel smart and playing enough of them straight to feel comfortable. Can't say I'd consider any of the other anime I'm watching this season to be a strong #1 contender other than it, really. I think Mob Psycho might have a chance at some point but I myself thought episode #3 is as good as it's gonna get and that didn't manage to get 1st place.

Have you seen episode #5? I'll be severely disappointed if it ranks anywhere below third place |

Yes, and I personally thought it was as weak as episode 1. I do expect it to be rank really high though, lots of people liked it.

I'm surprised so many more people like Danganronpa Despair more than Future. I mean, I do too, but I assumed the heavy action and suspense of the Future Arc would appeal to more people.

Just curious, but why do you think episode 5 is a weak episode? |

I think you have your facts a bit mixed up. First of all, the Usagi Drop anime is a sweet and very thoughtful story about a child and a parent. In the manga is where spoiler[the parent-child relationship turns into an uncomfortable romantic love relationship when the little girl is a teenager]. |

Haha gotta love some people's reactions. "What? My favorite show didn't rank as high as I wanted? This whole site is terrible!"
I think Mob Psycho 100 is getting better with every episode and that ep 5 had some great character development as well as a kick-ass psychic fight scene with Mob being flung around like a glorious rag doll, not to mention it made me laugh several times. But that's just my opinion. |

I'm pretty surprised that JoJo's: Diamond Is Unbreakable dropped five spots. Usually, I see this series stay pretty consistently within the top five. Is it because some people couldn't stand Shigechi? Or is it because this was an episode with no fighting and almost no conflict?
Ah, is that the episode in question? Yeah, that's worse than a filler episode: A recap episode. And Toei stooped even lower by putting canon material at the end of it--and the beginning of a story arc too. So basically, they force you to wade through about 20 minutes of story they've told like 20 times by now (not including commercials) to get a tidbit of required information at the end. |

Ten Count GN 1

Despite a slightly uncomfortable premise, Ten Count's first volume treats its characters well in a slow but enjoyable first volume.
