Nice interview! I'd also like to see more stories about Tsubaki and Watari (this last one wasn't quite developed as a character). | |||

Great interview! I'm still very thankful that Arakawa-sensei gave me his sketch of Arima at his Anime Expo panel. Who knew one small bar of Aldi chocolate could trade for such a fine piece of artwork? His stories alone made me a devoted fan, but that didn't hurt either.
Also, I want to buy that live-action movie poster, frame it, and hang it in my office along with the Arima sketch. Anyone know where I can buy a copy? |

Nice read. I like it.
Maybe action manga tend to be more received than drama ones because shounens enjoy action more. I now get it why the two other characters play sports. |

Magi: Adventure of Sinbad
anime
This Magi spinoff about Sinbad's early adventures has some rushed pacing problems, but its combination of adventure, humor, and backstory still tally up to a good time. Rebecca Silverman dives in.
― Thirty years before Aladdin, Alibaba, and Morgiana meet in Balbadd, a boy was born in Parthevia to a wounded soldier and his wife. Does that sound a bit melodramatic? So is the very beginning of this spin...

anime
For some, anime convention badges seem like they're going up in price, and ticketed events - an extra expense after you've paid for your badge - are on the rise. Justin gets into the rising costs of conventions.
― Kasra asks: I want to ask why in the world of cons is so expensive. I went to my first con on Friday and the cost of the ticket was so much that it was unbelievable -- 57 dollars to get in...

Yurikuma Arashi BD+DVD
anime
This yuri series of yesteryear can often be too weird for words, but its artistic ambition and thought-provoking ideas must be seen to be bear-lieved. Jacob Chapman explores this unusual gem.
