Why's ReZero included when it's still ongoing? But well, Ace Attorney deserves the Raspberry! I'm so glad Mayoiga is getting some love. It was ridiculously interesting if you spare the intricacies.
My list: Best: Sakamoto Runner-up: Torn between Tanaka/Tora Worst: Attorney |

A lot of people are going to be upset when they see that Kabaneri is nowhere to be seen here...

I'm surprised Big Order didn't show up here. It ranked at the bottom every week and sounds terrible.

I don't choose my best anime because it's difficult to decide critically, but I name my most enjoyed anime this season so far.
1. Guess it. I'm sure many can't guess it. Clue: The MC is voiced by Daiki Yamashita. Runner-up: Tanaka-kun

I think many believe MHA is one of the best and so do I, next is Re:Zero which is also popular. Space Patrol Luluco was iffy to start but I think it is one of the best shows of any kind this season as it actually created a full entertaining story arc in 13x5 min. shorts (7min minus the 2min opener and closer!). Flying Witch is an obvious front-runner for best for me as it is an interesting and enjoyable way to unwind, plus get some actually useful cooking and gardening tips! For worst, not having seen Ace Attorney, I nominate Big Order and concur on Kumamiko. The latter was going really well toward being one of my favorites and then Ep12 happened, sort of like a psychological cousin to School Days's ending. BO (fitting abbreviation for this stinker) was a wreak from start to finish and the only reason for anyone to watch this to the end was it was so rand0m in it's plot twists and cliff-hangers it was impossible to predict where it was going. Little did we know it was into a brick wall. Lost Village was in that category as well. Hope to see more Flying Witch and MHA. For me:
Best of season: Re:Zero Runner up: Haven't You Heard? I'm Sakamoto. Haven't laughed this much at a series in a while. The only other shows I saw where Kabaneri and My Hero Academia but never really carried on watching mid-way. Probably will at some point. Personally I still enjoy the Ace Attorney anime but am disappointed that they didn't use it to its full potential. It really could've been something great. That would require people to watch that far in Big Order, and apart from James who wasn't able to participate, I don't think anybody did. I mean, I watched Big Order, but I also watched Super Lovers, so uh, #questionablelifechoices |

Nice to see Anne Happy get a shout-out. If you can make it to the third episode - i.e., the point at which the show truly begins embracing its ridiculousness - you're likely to enjoy yourself. I really want to agree with Paul on Three Leaves, Three Colors, but the top-tier production values and enthusiasm with which the show presented seemingly well-worn material managed to keep me entertained all season long. I doubt it's something I'll revisit, though.
Since every conceivable genre was well-represented this spring, choosing a favorite is kind of difficult. As a comedy fan, I suppose it would be a toss-up between Sakamoto and Tanaka-kun. (Honorable mention to Bakuon!!) Of the 20-something shows I followed, my personal worst would probably be Twin Star Exorcists, although a couple of the ones I dropped early on are subjectively worse than TSE. Kuma Miko is a close runner-up, though. Even without the god-awful ending, I had a lot of issues with the show's latter half. My best of and runner up is the same as Nick's while my worst is Big Order I know that is a really easy one to pick. But it is so bad from weird tonal shifts to bizarre fanservice and almost rape to a non-ending I just hated

It's a shame that the best show is ineligible for this list. And of course I'm talking about Macross Delta. Great music, awesome action, lovable characters, it knocks pretty much all of it out of the park. I even look forward to it even more than I ever did Gundam Iron Blooded Orphans.
For worst, I guess I'd have to go with Pan de Peace. There was nothing wrong with it and I didn't hate it, but it didn't really hook me on anything either. |

I liked And You Thought There Was Never A Girl Online *catches breathing* but midway I made the mistake of watching the first episode of the English dub. The dub was all right, Trina did a neat job, but now that I have their voices in my head I couldn't go back to watching the rest of the series of it in Japanese.
It's kinda like watching Code Geass first on Adult Swim, and now I'm unable to watch it again without hearing Liam O-Brien. It just feels wrong. Strangely enough I do not have this same problem with Akame ga Kill, I just refuse to listen to the dub. Sorry Molly Searcy, when I read the manga Akame will always be voiced by Brina Palencia. |

Well it simply couldn't provide writing that is good enough to compete with some really good shows this season. Looks and soundtrack can't carry a show if the story taps into more and more traps. It's absolute great as a popcorn anime and for flashy actions scenes but that's pretty much it. So I think the requirements were simply too high for it to score highly. Or it may be because it hasn't finished airing yet lol. |

While I'm a VERY big fan of JoJo and I'm really loving the Diamond is Unbreakable adaptation, I prefer to put it aside on my most favorite list, because I'd feel particularly biased for what's going to happen.
That's why my favorite this season has been Space Patrol Luluco. I couldn't wait for every friday to come and watch this love letter to TRIGGER studio, whose works I've thoroughly enjoyed these years. It's true that Luluco relies heavily for at least four episodes on it's TRIGGER roots (and it was already heavily impmlied by episode 3 or 4 when Lalaco Godspeed shows up...her coat has life fibers in it), but I don't believe it's done a bad job with it at all, since everytime they show up they all include the thematic of the show it's parodying and give it a new idea, although they don't exactly have the best jokes (the Machspeed episode was a bit underwhelming). But all episodes that feature Luluco-centric thematic is just amazing. Midori's snarky voice and quick one-liners are endearing all throughout, the captain's JUSTICE gimmick always makes me laugh too. Probably my favorite joke is when they just pack a whole damn city and in trying to shoplift the shoplifted city they end up in a weird-ass warphole, but also before that they literally microwave Luluco's dad brain and stick it into some golden mannequie and make it shoot lasers. Perfect timing and content. As for the runner-up, that would be Flying Witch, for all the stated reasons. And as worst, I fear that it's between Kabaneri which still hasn't aired its last episode and Ace Attorney, but while Ace Attorney hasn't been particularly amazing and very underwhelming at points, it didn't betray itself by the end and stayed more or less true to the game's feeling. |
