Pardon me if it's off-topic but I've seen no pictures or reviews of the Anisong World Matsuri apart from what has appeared on artist blogs or Japanese promotional sites (e.g. BARKS).
Has anyone seen any post concert coverage on any US web sites? |

Photos aren't allowed during those events and as press we have to follow those rules very closely - also we've had very poor readership with "reviews" of concerts that feature no photos or footage otherwise, so we haven't done anything like that in a long while. We did manage to get an interview with Aqours, which will have approved photos, so look forward to that! |

OK, thanks for the information, I'd hoped that the organisers would have released some sanctioned concert photos to those accredited as media reporting on Anime Expo. |

Heh, my boss is from UK and I recently discussed weather with him. He noted how hot it is and I told him I prefer it to the cold. He responded that even though he's from the UK, since he's lived here for a pretty long while now he can't take UK winter anymore. |

Dude, you can go to Twitter and search for photos and videos. I posted a bunch of clips from the concert. Japan Super Live was amazing! So glad I went and we'll definitely VIP it next year. The band battle was pretty cool too. It was a smaller more inclusive venue which let to a really great experience! FLOW was great but OLDCODEX really went all out. I'm going to JPop Summit in SF and can't wait for GARNiDELiA (MARiA). |

If photos aren't allowed in these events, then aren't what they're doing illegal? |

There is a difference between breaking the organization's rules, and breaking an actual law. The first can get you thrown out of the concert of the convention the second can get you arrested. As Zac said, ANN has to be very careful to obey the convention rules (as they need to maintain a professional relationship with them.) A random concert viewer has very little to lose. About the only thing that would get a person arrested for taking photos is if they violently refused to leave. |

Thanks, I've searched on the Twitter hashtag #AnisongWorldMatsuri and found a few things. Daisuke.net mentioned that digest clips of the concerts would be appearing later in the northern summer. |

All right then. Still a very disrespectful and risky thing to do. If I go to an event where photographs and videos are not allowed, then I understand it's because someone there is uncomfortable with having images leaked out online somewhere, and I'll respect them by complying. |

Does this fanservice-filled trading card game adaptation have the chops to stand out in a market crowded with both those things already? James Beckett finds out.
― Trading card game adaptations have a surprisingly wide variety of styles, tones, and themes, given their relatively simple origins. Some series choose to simply use the mythology of the game to forge their own unique story (Rage of Bahamut...
Review: Kizumonogatari I: Tekketsu-hen Blu-Ray
anime
The first film in the epic Monogatari trilogy has finally arrived on Blu-ray! Nick Creamer breaks down all the goods on this deluxe release.

Charlotte Blu-Ray 2
anime
After a promising start, Charlotte's second half derails in multiple ways. Nick Creamer takes a look at what went wrong.
― Charlotte began as a fairly comprehensible and even sometimes engaging fantasy drama. The central conceit allowed for plenty of unique episodic narratives, as Yu, Tomori, and their associates traveled around and saved those abusing their own psychic powers. It wasn't a great show...

Answerman - Why Are Motion-Smoothing Televisions So Terrible For Anime?
industry
Most new TVs have "motion smoothing" turned on by default, a video setting that makes anime look pretty terrible - but why? Justin gets into it.
― Jon asks: I recently upgraded my TV to a new OLED flatscreen from LG, and I couldn't understand why the anime I watched looked so blurry. After a little research online, I found out there is a setting called "TruMotion" that was the culprit and when I tur...
Shelf Life - Shimoneta

This week, James Beckett finds out if the infamously nasty SHIMONETA is a filthy good time or just plain filthy. Plus, all this week's new releases!
― I'm not sure how the anime world reached a point where I'm more excited about a pair of monster girl shows than just about any other new title this season, but here we are. I'm calling Interviews With Monster Girls my early favorite just because I lik...
Qualidea Code Episodes 1-12 Streaming
anime
This collaborative light-novel-project-turned-anime begins with tons of ambition and ends with tons of problems. James Beckett explains what went wrong.
― Qualidea Code belongs to a particular class of anime, one that I've come to refer as “anime stew”. An anime stew is any project that takes a bunch of ingredients we've seen dozens of times before, familiar themes and ideas and characters, then toss...
The Mike Toole Show - Binge Benefits
anime
Mike weighs the pros and cons of binge watching, the act of watching entire anime series (or huge chunks of episodes) all at once. Is the binge good, or is the binge bad?
― Every January, I visit Arisia, a science fiction convention here in Boston. For me, it's a fun change of pace – the convention is smaller and lower-key than the anime events I appear at, and while I'm on the speaking program, the ...
Big Order GN 1

Big Order's anime version may have been one of last year's biggest critical and popular bombs, but does the original manga fare any better? Rebecca Silverman finds out.
― Big Order is the third of Sakae Esuno's manga to be released in English, and readers may have noticed a trend: with each series, the story gets more complicated and bizarre as the storytelling gets looser. The basic themes within Bi...
