Woo! Really glad to see MADHOUSE on top for this poll. I thought I was one of very few who had such a high opinion of them.

Also, as far as parody-type anime go, the references in Nyaruko: Crawling with Love are pretty blatant a lot of the time.

Worst anime of 2014? Easily Dai Shogun. It's one of the worst series I've seen in my entire life. Then again, I was able to stomach only two episodes, but I doubt it becomes better.

Surprised that When Supernatural Battles Became Commonplace wasn't listed for anime cameos since it was filled with Gurren Lagaan and Kill la Kill easter eggs, including Mako with a walk-on role at the water park.

Worst anime of the year? I would have to say "Recently, My Sister is Unusual". Somehow that show seemed so boring and offensive that it makes OniAi look like a normal show compared to it.

I always like cameos in anime and manga and a lot of those on the list I was not aware of, can't fault the number one choice, fab episode that was.
Pretty easy to pick my 5 worst series of the year since out of all the anime I watched this year only 8 were bad (a lot of average series), one of them isn't in the options, that being Wonder Momo and the other 3 aren't eligible. So Space Dandy, Silver Spoon S2, Mahou Shoujo Taisen and Dai Shogun it is. A shame series that concluded this year aren't allowed to be included which I find odd. Toriko, Samurai Flamenco and Kill la Kill would have made the list otherwise. |

I think most people share my distaste for Glasslip. Pretty much nothing happens, and not in a good way like a lot of slice of life shows. Nothing really amounts to anything at any given moment, which leads to a weak conclusion. It's probably one of the worst anime I've ever watched. Gundam Reconguista in G and Buddy Complex would be other great choices.
I love cameos in my anime, and I wish more would be included. I wish studios would create a mascot character and include them in all of their works. Sunrise does this for Gundam a bit but I'd prefer to see it on a larger scale. |

No Karen Senki on the poll? Easily the worst thing to come out last year. Without that though I will go with Fuuun Ishin Dai Shogun, seeing as how it was barely even animated to begin with.

As well as Toradora and Baccano!, there were references to Spice and Wolf (Kotobukiya's Holo figure was seen) and Black Butler (a promo for the second season) in Durarara!!.

Pupa was definitely the worst thing I watched last year. Only good thing about it was that it was really short.

I believe that sums the matter of the King of Cameos:
This year's worst shows? Mahou Sensou (Magical Warfare) and Maken-Ki! 2 Last edited by Hameyadea on Sat Jan 03, 2015 5:07 pm; edited 1 time in total |

I also went with Pupa, and only Pupa. This was an uncompleted mess ala Ride to Hell Retribution. I am a big horror fan so it stung especially for me. I have not watched much of the others mentioned but at least it did not set up an interesting premise and then spend a number of episodes about a guy being literally eaten by his sister (which was funny in an unironic sense). |

Things like Gintama and Bobobo make their bread and butter with references to other series and shows. The best Bobobo reference only works though if you are familiar with Yiddish Holocaust songs. It totally works.
As far as the best cameos in anime, I think when Fukumoto Nobuyuki gets to play the role of his own stereo typical Yakuza thug, that is the anime/J-Drama singularity right there |

The lack of Gintama is disturbing. It even had a strange mix between Will Smith and Obama

Kuromukuro Episodes 14-26 Streaming
anime
Kuromukuro does its best to resolve its many mysteries in its action-packed second half, but does it succeed? Theron Martin investigates.
