Pilot Episode

An episode created for demonstration purposes. Pilot episodes are often created in order to shop a TV series around to potential broadcasters, investors and licensers. Pilot episodes may run full length or be only a few minutes long, some may be produced in high quality, while others are produced with very low quality.

High quality, full length pilots are often integrated as an episode (often the first) in TV series.

Pilots can also be created for movies.
