a vamp hunter d cosplay, dont see that much. too bad, both movies are great, classics, and yet nobody does anything for it. maybe years ago, but not anymore. SHOW SOME APPRECIATION FOR THE OLD SCHOOL! I've only been to two cons, one very small, the other had a couple thousand people, so has anyone seen cosplays from the older Gundam series? we need to get rid of the narutards so that there can be more room for other stuff. | |||

Oh wow, that Alucard coat is amazing. I'd so buy it if I had the money And BTW, not all cosplay is expensive. The clothes for my NANA cosplay were about $17 at a thrift store, and I know a girl who made herself a Tao Ren cosplay for about the same price. Especially if you're good at sewing (or know someone who is) you can hit up a thrift store and just alter the clothes to your liking. Cheap and quite fun^^ Of course, if you're going as something fancy, it might just be worth it to pay for a professional design. |

O_O I want an Org.XIII jacket. All their clothes look great, but they're a little (read: way) out of my price range. |

Hmm, I'm still saving money for a stormtrooper armor of SW Ep 3 but I think a shirt or hoodie of Samurai Champloo would be quite cool |

The only time I will ever seriously consider sewing is for cosplay. There is a NANA coslplay? I suppose if you wanted a specific outfit. The problem for me is that Final Fantasy Advent Children people have TOO MUCH leather, metal, or armor on their clothes (I'm just thinking of Tifa and a few others I could never pull off cosplaying). Professional designs are actually very good, but it depends. Make a cosplay yourself for $17 or buy an already made cosplay for $100 or more (And shipping)? My solution: Just befriend someone who has sewing skills like Uryu Ishida. And then ask him/her to make me a cosplay of Uryu Ishida. |

Very random question: By any chance has anyone come across a Cosplay shop/storefront online that sells a good pair of Kamina glasses?
I know someone out there must know how to make/buy a good pair of them. People DO cosplay as him after all. |

I'd so love that Captain Reynolds duster... But so much money! I'm too poor...
Anyways, even if you make your own costumes, cosplay is an expensive habit. Getting the right fabric so that it'll last and won't kill you in the heat costs, and so does the props. Which sucks... |

The Real Legends of Magi: The Kingdom of Magic
anime
The next season of the Arabian Nights-flavored action-adventure hit Magi is on the way to Netflix; learn the folkloric history behind the show's heroes and get a refresher on seasons past.
― The Arabian Nights' Entertainment. 1001 Nights. Whatever you call it, the collection of Middle and Far Eastern folklore collected around the 13th century in Persia (now Iran) has had impressive reach in all corne...
ALDNOAH.ZERO Blu-Ray 4
anime
ALDNOAH.ZERO tries just a little too hard to wrap everything up in a bow in these last six episodes, and while it works, it lacks any major impact.
― I very rarely say this, but in the case of Aldnoah.Zero, I firmly believe it: the show should have ended after episode twelve. While it would have been a depressing ending, it also would have made a point and kept its characters fairly interesting and r...
The X Button - Interview: Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness
anime
This week: Star Ocean producer Shuichi Kobayashi talks sequels, scandalous attire, and Valkyrie Profile! Plus Let it Die, Nier: Automata, and a dangerous new direction for games.
― Welcome to another edition of the X Button. I must interrupt your regularly scheduled Valkyrie Profile updates for some news about Sony's new PlayStation 4. Yes, some solid rumors point to Sony releasing an upgraded versi...
C³ BD+DVD
anime
C3 is a surprisingly entertaining take on some well-worn action-fanservice territory.
― Released five years ago now, C³ was one of Silver Link's earliest productions, before they were renowned for… well, making a whole lot of shows exactly like C³. The show falls in the timeless “action-fanservice adaptation themed around torture/bondage gear” subgenre, which has more recently featured the legitimate...

Review: The Empire of Corpses
anime
In select theaters now, The Empire of Corpses succeeds as a rip-roaring adventure story, even if its philosophical pretensions aren’t quite up to snuff.
― The easy, almost foolproof way of testing your appetite for The Empire of Corpses would be to ask: are you a fan of The League of Extraordinary Gentleman (the comics, not the film)? Does that kind of turn of the century steampunk aesthetic entice y...
Tokyo Ghoul Volumes 5 & 6
manga
Tokyo Ghoul may not be subtle with its "monster vs. man" themes, but it does know how to keep you reading as we start to learn more about why Kaneki exists and what levels the police will stoop to in order to stop the ghouls.
― One thing you can say for Tokyo Ghoul – once it seizes on a theme, it doesn't look back. As the story has developed, it has continued to play with the notion of the monster ve...
