Some American Students Are Using Dildos To Protest Gun Laws
A new law has been passed in Texas, which allows students with the right permits to bring their guns to campus, dorms and maybe even in classrooms.
Understandably, not everyone is overjoyed at this news – after all, there have been 52 school shootings in America this year alone.
Inspired by the knowledge that it might soon be considered more dangerous to carry around a sex toy than a gun (this isn’t a joke; brandishing a sex toy in public could land you a misdemeanor conviction on top of a $500 fine), students have started to protest using the very excellent (but slightly NSFW) hashtag #CocksNotGlocks. They’ve even organised a Campus (DILDO) Carry event, where students will be encouraged to bring dildos to class in an attempt to highlight the ridiculousness of the laws.
“The State of Texas has decided that it is not at all obnoxious to allow deadly concealed weapons in classrooms, however it DOES have strict rules about free sexual expression, to protect your innocence”, group founder Jessica Jin wrote on Facebook.“You would receive a citation for taking a DILDO to class before you would get in trouble for taking a gun to class. Heaven forbid the penis.”
Sex toys aren’t the only thing deemed too risky to be legal – the largest state university in Texas has also banned candles, toasters and Nerf guns from dorm rooms.
Yup, you read that correctly. Nerf guns are banned, actual guns may not be. We’ll just let that sink in for a moment…
