Next 'Call of Duty' Could Be Set In Space - Here's Everything We Know
Just when you thought Call of Duty was getting a bit monotonous, it looks like the game series is going off world.
The next Call of Duty game is expected to be an original that is set in space. According to sources of Eurogamer, we can expect full on "space combat between warring sci-fi groups in the far flung future".
So we're hoping for laser weapons, space jetpacks and maybe even spaceship flight too. A few robots floating about in the battle is also high on our want-list for the new title.
Of course the game should follow the usual first-person perspective style that Call of Duty is famous for.Dare we hope it could also offer virtual reality support, ideal for the 360-degree views zero gravity could afford? Sony's PlayStation VR is due for release before this game arrives.
The game is being developed by Infinity Ward, which created Call of Duty: Ghosts (above). This didn't get the best response from fans or the industry and it looks like the makers are going for a new type of title this time around. That said, Ghosts did feature an intro set in space.
The new CoD game is expected to launch this November on PC, PS4 and Xbox One. Sony's PlayStation VR is slated to arrive in October.
