Full Time Managing Editor Wanted in Tokyo
For a project we are developing with one of our partners, Anime News Network is looking for a full time managing editor for a new website.
The candidate must possess the following:
- Experience with online journalism publishing, preferably in anime or a similar niche market (e.g. videogames);
- Native, professional English language writing skills;
- Familiarity with the anime industry, market and fandom.
Should have experience as an associate, managing, executive editor or similar position.
Preferably candidates should live in Japan, and speak Japanese at an N2 or better level. Relocation would be considered for good candidates. It is not mandatory for candidates to live in Tokyo or Japan, but they must be willing to relocate for the 3-month launch stage of the website.
The position would involve managing a team of freelancers writing about Japanese anime. You would be responsible for giving assignments, as well as writing and editing content yourself.
This project is backed by a major Japanese corporation. The position includes a competitive salary, benefits package, and Japanese working visa support.
