Personally, I'd take Kokoa over Moka. Not only is she cuter, but there's never a risk of a certain pendant conveniently falling off I'm also very surprised to see Charlotte do so well. |

This is a nice list.
I agree with those that I am familiar with, Hazuki, Moka and Karin, and this makes me want to check out some of the others. For a "doctor" that I would not want to touch me I am thinking of the one squad leader in Bleach, but I need to look up his name. Found him: Mayuri Kurotsuchi, Captain of Twelfth Company. |

I don't really like her tendency to spoiler[eat people whole]. Shinobu I might let in, but she comes with Araragi and I don't have any cute girls for him to grope around so he'd probably not be very interested |

I kind of expected School-Live! to take the top spot, but congrats to My Love Story!!; it is more popular than I thought.

Sarasvati from Is This a Zombie? is a buxom vampire ninja who at first lusts after Ayumu's butt and curve lines but then falls for him.

Hey I love Karin, glad that someone still remembers it.
About this list, what about Abel Nightroad from Trinity Blood? He sucks blood but vampire blood and doesn't belong in the "living off the lifeblood of virginal humans" category. |

I don't know if these are meant to be the friendly vampires or cute vampires but if you're going to have Hazuki over, you may as well invite Evangeline from Negima over as well. May as well say it, her bark is worse than her bite. Too bad her story only ever came out in the manga.
Karin makes for a nice number one though I think her sister Anju is the better example of a vampire, even if she's another gothic lolita vampire. I saw and liked four of the top shows on the old poll; I don't know how much it says about the summer season but I am glad Charlotte's neither one or two. I'm thinking Stein for the new poll.. yup he's already on it. Can't go wrong as long as you don't go to him. |

Yes! Karin at #1! No mention of Karin's Trusted Friend And Sidekick, though. ("My name is Maki!") Do vampire ninjas count, in the case of Seraphim from Is This a Zombie? Then again, you probably wouldn't want her over, especially to cook. |

ah let's see, for one of those beautiful moonlit nights... ehhh, don't think I'd mind one bit letting Seras Victoria come over for dinner For the goofier ambiance I'd have to invite the entire Maaka Family along with Alucard von Mosquiton (Master of Mosquiton) and... what was her name, can't recall it atm, but that'd be a hoot! |

Answerman - Why Haven't Light Novels And Visual Novels Caught On In America?
industry
Light novels and visual novels have both had plenty of niche success in the US, but neither medium has broken mainstream - why is that? Justin considers the possibilities.

A Girl on the Shore GN
manga
Inio Asano's sexually explicit tale of two depressed middle schoolers seeking solace in each other is haunting in its depiction of teenage depression and what its protagonists do to try and cope with it.
― Here's your warning before we discuss the book: this is a very sexually explicit manga, so if that makes you uncomfortable, A Girl on the Shore is not going to be the book for you. Given that Inio ...

One of the most popular and beloved comedies of the last few years is out on bluray from Sentai Filmworks, and Theron Martin's ready for a revisit.

Answerman - Is There A Future For "Spinoff" Anime Conventions?
anime
Japan Expo USA is on hiatus indefinitely and a few other conventions "spun off" from larger events seem to be having a little trouble - is there a future for these shows?
― Chris asks: I see Japan Expo USA has gone into hiatus mode, and we're waiting on dates and a location for the next Otakon Vegas. Are these spinoff cons going to make it, and what's holding them back? Despite their popularity, ani...

Review: Parasyte -the maxim- Blu-Ray Vol. 1
anime
The first half of Adult Swim's smash hit horror/thriller Parasyte is out on bluray from Sentai Filmworks. Nick Creamer revisits the phenomenon for a fresh look at all that gore and splatter.
― Initially published throughout the late 80s and early 90s, you'd think the Parasyte manga would be an odd choice for adaptation - until you learned it was accompanying a new live-action film release. Given that...
Indian Summer DVD
anime
This three episode OVA series from 2007-2008 is an eminently forgettable fan service fest which is best forgotten about.
― This three episode OVA series, which adapts a manga of the same name, was originally released in Japan over 2007 and 2008. ADV Films gave the anime version its first American release in the first quarter of 2009, but it is now being rereleased by Sentai Filmworks under its Sentai...
