Storyline

Johnny has a vision of Walt's funeral and tries to prevent danger from happening at the town's winter festival. Walt meanwhile, is hiding something from the very pregnant Sarah, while Bruce considers moving from town to accept a job elsewhere, while Greg Stillson, now the Vice President of the USA, arrives in town to partake in the festivities at the Faith Heritage, despite Janus' opposition. Just when Johnny believes he has averted the disaster, a fire at Faith Heritage later claims two people, Malcolm Janus and Walt himself, changing Johnny's life... and the world's fate. The Beginning of the End
6 July 2007 | by (United Kingdom) – See all my reviews

First of all. I think they all looked newly different. Walt, Sarah, New J.J, Bruce, and Greg Stillson looks have changed dramatically. Greg Stillson looked like he needed some sleep, Walt complexions looks darker, Sarah looks like she is really pregnant, Bruce has now got a beard and shaved is hair and there is also a new J.J but I still preferred the old J.J though. I did not read any spoilers before watching this episode and was quite surprised and disappointed that Walt is gone. He played a great role in the dead zone. Malcolm Janus who also looked like would play a major part in this probably last final season too is gone. I don't think this episode was well planned. I keep thinking Johnny was still having is vision but no Walt is gone. This episode was like the finale of the season and not the beginning of the dead zone season 6 because Johnny didn't see Armageddon when he shook hands with Greg Stillson's towards the end.

The dead zone could have been so much better. I remember when Johnny use to have his cane and communicate with the future johnny and that weird guy. They didn't really make much out of that storyline and in the end Johnny just threw the cane down the river. I am not sure what more to expect next. I guess the Armageddon would come and go again. I am guessing Walt (Chris Bruno) and Janus had to leave the dead zone for some reasons so they made a way out for them right from the start so the show can go on knowing they are off. I do not know if i missed it but I did not hear the usual beginning intro with Johnny saying; "I had the perfect live until I was in a coma for 6years..." Overall this episode did not leave up to my expectation and from watching it I don't think season 6 would be as good as like season 1 to 4. I still enjoy watching the dead zone and I'm looking forward to see what Johnny sees next.
