Interestingly enough, 3 of the 12 film series listed here, including the number 1 choice Garden of Sinners, are essentially not theatrical productions at all, and only kinda sorta count by way of technicality.
Break Blade and Garden of Sinners are both effectively high-budget OVA series that had a limited theatrical run prior to their home video release. Yamato 2199 is an even more obvious example here, as it was clearly always planned for a typical 2 cour TV slot. |

Shouldn't Lupin the Third be in the poll?

The Poll:
I chose Shingeki! Kyojin Chūgakkō for the humor, Valkyrie Drive -Mermaid- for the Guilty Pleasure, and Heavy Object for the action. |

And now I'm not craving sweets but to instead read #5 and #1. The former has a fascinating premise and the latter comes from one of my favorite mangaka. Alas, both come from Viz's parent companies and Viz rarely touches josei unless it's smutty romance, so they'll likely never come out legallly here.

For last week's poll about the film series the Pokemon, Case Closed, and One Piece movies were not included even though they all got more votes than the Persona 3 movies. They were apparently disqualified for some reason and I am curious about that reason?
I am not familiar with One Piece but I know that Pokemon and Case Closed had a series of legitimate movies. I voted for Case Closed. |

Meh, I wanted to see which place was taken by The Devil is a Part-Timer. I'm glad to see Madoka Magica in the top three, I so loved Rebellion.
About the new poll. As I chose One-punch man and Owarimono before, now I added Ani Tore because of "cute girls doing cute things". |

Read Antique Bakery and watched the anime, J-drama (was ok) and the Korean movie (well done adaptation) - all of them make one suddenly crave sweet fancy pastries and get frustrated by not finding any in the local grocery store.
Only read 1 vol of Happy Cafe and haven't seen the others yet. For new season - couldn't really vote, I've eased up on my anime viewing because I've been getting burned out. |

I was actually the one to put Pokemon movies option on the list, and it was pretty high up on votes last I checked. 'Continuing plot' was not specified last week. But even so, Pokemon movies 10-12 have a continuing plot, and I feel they should be counted. |

Was sad to see that Kitchen Princess wasn't on the list. Most of the items Najika makes are desserts and there's practically a new recipe every chapter. It's one of my more favorite shoujo manga.

Am I the only one who isn't excited any of the shows next season? The only one that looks remotely interesting to me is Subete ga F ni Naru (Which isn't on the poll...). It seems like it's all sequels to shows I never watched and don't care to watch, or supernatural shows which I generally don't care much for.
That said, it wouldn't be a bad thing to have a season off to catch up on older shows I missed. And of course, I always pick up a surprise show or two after the first episodes are reviewed in the preview guide. |

While the focus was not exclusively on sweets, Yakitate Japan did have some dessert competitions in it. Last edited by CrownKlown on Sun Sep 13, 2015 12:20 am; edited 1 time in total |

Notice that reading or watching shows about about guys eating sweets is a such a big thing. Cause there is nothing so grand as skinny, bishounen men baking, tasting and eating sweets.
It's funny that I was just thinking about this very thing last night and now we have a column on this very thing. |

About the only new show I'm interested in is the new Gundam. I really can't afford to put much more time into fun stuff in the coming months unfortunately.

Not really, although, for the summer season that'll soon end, I wasn't anticipating Himouto! Umaru-chan or Shimoneta, two shows I am enjoying, at the equivalent point in June. |

Well when it comes to baking in general, "Yakitate!! Japan" takes the cake.
...Wait. God damn it, I didn't mean to say it like that! It honestly just came out that way! Also, my vote in the poll was unequivocally clear: One-Punch Man. Damn right. |

Alice in Murderland GN 1

A Silent Voice GN 2
manga
A Silent Voice moves towards a more conventional dramatic structure while maintaining the nuanced character writing that makes it great.
