It's no secret that Donald Trump is controversial: The businessman turned reality show host turned presidential candidate recently took a verbal shot at Vietnam prisoner of war Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) and read out fellow Republican presidential candidate Sen. Lindsey Graham's (R-S.C.) cellphone number at a campaign event.
His antics are getting a lot of attention, but on Wikipedia they're getting the wrong kind of attention. The English language version of Trump's Wikipedia page was essentially deleted twice Wednesday by digital vandals who wiped out the content of the page, according to its revision history.
The second time, the information was replaced with just this note: "Lets[sic] be fair, nobody cares about him."
Wikipedia is an online encyclopedia that anyone can edit -- which means vandalism sometimes happens. Editing is sometimes restricted on frequently vandalized pages. That doesn't appear to have happened here, and Trump's page was quickly restored to an earlier version after each deletion.
The Wikimedia Foundation, which runs Wikipedia, did not immediately respond to a request for comment -- nor did the Trump campaign.
