  • Information specialists are available from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and from 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Pacific Time to advise you on the availability of BLS data, publications, and information services. Staff economists also assist customers with technical questions regarding survey terms and definitions and with the interpretation and application of BLS data.

    • You can also e-mail your request. Responses to inquiries received by fax and e-mail are usually answered within one workday.
  • CPI Hotline: (415) 625-2270, menu option 2
    • A 24 hour recorded message service containing the latest all items indexes and percent changes for the U.S., West, and Western selected metropolitan areas. The message also provides the issue date for the next release.
  • Library
    • The regional office reference library is open to the public from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.. Our library contains historical BLS Bulletins, Monthly Labor Review, BLS Reports, BLS periodicals, news releases, and summaries. Current materials may be obtained free of charge from the information staff.
