A wigwam on a roofop in the middle of Shoreditch? Don’t mind if we do. Yes, WigWamBam is back for 2014 on top of the Queen of Hoxton. This year the candle-lit hideaway is inspired by Britain’s wild outdoors, with moss-covered tree stumps, tangled vines and views of the stars (if you can see them through the light pollution). Think toasting marshmallows around an open fire and you’ve got the right idea.

Inside there’s a massive barbecue grill serving up food like apricot and herb stuffed pork loin and sloe gin pulled lamb shoulder. Then you can wash all that down with a hot buttered rum, or a ‘Grandma’s Whiskers’ cocktail from the bar outside.

To accompany the eating, drinking and merrymaking, WigWamBam will also be hosting ‘Drink & Do’ workshops including paper play on National Origami Day (November 11), traditional cider tasting with The Cider Box (November 15) and Super Collider’s astronomy class (date TBC). Then in January the Cocktail Gardener will be there, hosting a masterclass using herbs and flours to infuse and garnish your bevvies.

Find out more about the Queen of Hoxton. Free entry, Friday October 31 until the end of March, 1-5 Curtain Rd,EC2A 3JX.
