Uh oh, it seems that Tesco’s shares aren’t the only things that have gone limp. Yes, this buttermilk – ahem – package is also a bit of a cock-up. Thanks for the LOLs Tesco (and Reddit user Andy Burdens for spotting this).

Almost as good as the chocolate santa penis! Seen any other design fails? Let me know at @sonya_barber.

It’s a jungle out there: ‘Shoreditch Wild Life’ as spotted by Dougie Wallace

Posted at 2:00 pm, October 28, 2014 in Arts & Entertainment

It’s a fine line between peacocking and going to the shops in your pants, and this bloke is treading it with abandon, one flip flop at a time. Dougie Wallace’s new book of photographs of the human zoo (in a good way) that is Shoreditch contains a lot of debauchery, a lot of energy, a lot of fashion wishful thinking and a lot of things that are quite difficult to explain. Like monsieur here. Sorry, what are you laughing at, pal? Read the full post…

How clean is the tube? We found out

Posted at 7:00 am, October 28, 2014 in Fun London, Transport

Last week, we saw a YouTube video of a person in an undisclosed city bashing a bus seat with a hammer. The result? Dust billowing into the air as if someone had attacked a vacuum-cleaner bag. It was gross. [Take a look above.] Read the full post…

Hacking the mac: a custom McDonald’s menu for London

Posted at 4:15 pm, October 27, 2014 in Food & Drink, Fun London

So we decided to take to London’s Big Mac merchants to test out the largely US-based practice of menu hacking – where you tinker with an eaterie’s de rigeur dishes to devise cheaper, (sometimes) more delicious versions. Here, using modified versions of US classics and the odd one we’ve made up ourselves, is London’s first hacked McDonald’s menu.  Read the full post…

‘Interstellar’ blasts off: read our first-look review

Posted at 3:00 pm, October 27, 2014 in Arts & Entertainment
Interstellar

‘The Dark Knight’ and ‘Inception’ director Christopher Nolan’s sci-fi adventure ’Interstellar’ is the most anticipated film of the autumn, and a hot tip for Oscar glory next year. The film takes audiences on a spectacular journey through time and space, as Matthew McConaughey’s rugged spaceship pilot searches for a new home for humanity, to replace the dying Earth. It’s got scope, scale, special effects and a cast to die for (McConaughey is joined by Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, Michael Caine and Matt Damon), but is it actually any good?
