2011 PRIORITIES:

1. Provide integrated and coherent support to the 2011 UNDAF roll-out countries (Lesotho, Namibia, Rwanda, South Africa); Enhance regional inter-agency support to UNCTs;
2. Follow up with UNCTs to provide technical assistance in the implementation of their respective 2010 work plans;
3. Conduct the RC/UNCT performance appraisal for 2009 reporting year and develop a strategy for increased interaction with the RCs and UNCTs during the current reporting year;
4. Develop a strategy for integrated support to UNCTs in Eastern African and the Horn of Africa region;
5. Support UNCTs in updating their contingency plans and Disaster Risk Reduction programming

2010 PRIORITIES:

1. Provide integrated and coherent support to the six 2010 UNDAF roll-out countries (Eritrea, Ethiopia, Malawi, Mozambique, Zimbabwe);Enhance regional inter-agency support to UNCTs;
2. Follow up with UNCTs to provide technical assistance in the implementation of their respective 2010 work plans;
3. Conduct the RC/UNCT performance appraisal for 2009 reporting year and develop a strategy for increased interaction with the RCs and UNCTs during the current reporting year;
4. Develop a strategy for integrated support to UNCTs in Eastern African and the Horn of Africa region;
5. Support UNCTs in updating their contingency plans and Disaster Risk Reduction programming.

2009 UNDG-ESA PRIORITIES:

1. Support to UNCTs in implementing nationally aligned MD- and MDG-based programs;
2. Provide technical advise and support to UNCTs in common country programming (CCA/UNDAF), particularly the 2009 UNDAF roll-out countries;
3. Provide oversight support and performance feedback to the RCs and UNCTs;
4. Provide strategic and operational support in the area of early warning, contingency planning & preparedness, and humanitarian response;
5. Collaborate with UNECA, RCM and regional entities with the aim of aligning regional programs with regional development needs and priorities of key regional entities;
6. Enhance service delivery to UNCTs through a continuous refinement of RDT operational and coordination mechanisms
