Fancy yourself as the next Apprentice? Think you’ve got a great business idea? If so, read on. This week (Nov 12-18) is Global Entrepreneurship Week, a campaign hosted by Youth Business International, which is a global organisation that helps young people start a business, or expand one they already have.

As part of the campaign, The British Library is running a week of activities aimed at helping young Londoners. The theme for the event is ‘growth’ and the centrepiece at the Library is the London Business Village which be open on November 12-13 to offer information on succeeding in business. Lots of companies will be on hand to give advice – look out for the innovative London-based company Lumacoustic, a company specialising in digital graffiti, that has seen its business grow phenomenally over the past year – and who will be running an interactive graffiti table for when you’ve had enough of all that networking.

We were also surprised to learn that the Library has a full-time dedicated Business & IP Centre based in its building that supports entrepreneurs and small businesses, providing free and affordable access to business information. Rebecca Taylor
