Roll up buoys and gulls and grab your (sea) mates for a boat load of sailor-themed fun. The Book Club in Shoreditch is turning ship-shape this Bank Holiday Sunday on August 24 for its nautical themed summer party, the Bookstock-On-Sea street festival.

The street party will spread over three areas, the Promenade, Sailors Rum Bar, and Under the Pier (featuring To The Lazer Caves in the basement) and will star one hull of a line-up. With legendary disco band Odyssey, hip hop-reggae-roots duo Nextmen, priceless Prince tribute act Princeless and a whole crew of others (Davos T, half of Disco Bloodbath, Lovesick DJS – you get the drift), you’ll have no choice but to make waves on the dance-floor.

Seas the opportunity to enter a Slow Motion ‘Baywatch’ Running competition and a Knobbly Knees Contest, get port-ly on a sailors diet of fish & chips, Bookstock-rock, and sea salt cocktails. Or just enjoy the Punch & Judy show, donkey rides, and musical seaside bingo – whatever floats your boat! Kitty Knowles

Bookstock-On-Sea will take place at The Book Club, Shoreditch, on Sunday August 25 between 12pm-8pm. The festival is free all day, but it is advised to get a priority wristband.
