In pictures: Hillingdon flash flooded with two weeks worth of rain

Ever commuted barefoot? Travellers at Ruislip Manor Station did this morning when they had to wade through ankle-deep water to catch their train after a flash flood in west London. 

Yup, two weeks’ worth of rain fell on Northolt and Ruislip in just an hour this AM. And while the commuters at Ruislip Manor could still paddle their way to the Underground, elsewhere travellers weren’t so, err, lucky.

The Metropolitan line was suspended between Ruislip and Rayners Lane and South Ruislip Station and Ruislip Station were closed. A fire crew was called to rescue two women from a flooded car and 20 properties on Bedford Road in Ruislip were affected
