‘24’ is back this May – and the new series is set in London
Remember the end of the eighth and ‘final’ series of ’24′, with Jack Bauer on the run as a fugitive? Well, the classic terrorist-foiling show is BACK this May with a new 12-episode series set in London and titled, with strong echoes of Bond, ‘Live Another Day’. It’ll air on Sky One here in the UK.
12 episodes? Indeed. The series will still be set over a single day, and each episode will still recreate an hour, but assumedly they’ll skip over the boring hours. (Perhaps allowing the characters to travel a little further afield?) Along with Jack Bauer, familiar faces Chloe O’Brian, James Heller and Audrey Raines will all be appearing in the comeback series.
Kiefer Sutherland, who plays Bauer, also tweeted that he’d been having dinner with Carlos Bernard (who played soul patch-sporting traitor Tony Almeida), inviting followers to ‘read into that what they will’. And we choose to read into it the return of Tony Almeida!
Expect exploding cars, husky voices, and inevitably, plentiful liberties taken with the layout of the tube. Oh, and a lot of people saying ‘dammit!’
So, the upcoming US TV air dates are looking like this:
’24: Live Another Day’: May, Sky One
‘Girls’, Season 3: Jan 20, Sky Atlantic
‘Game of Thrones’, Season 4: April 7, Sky Atlantic
‘Mad Men’, Season 7, Pt 1: April 13 in US, no confirmed date in the UK
‘Better Caul Saul’ (the ‘Breaking Bad’ spin-off): November in the US, no confirmed date in the UK
See the hilarious Bad Lip Reading version of ‘Game of Thrones‘.
The same could be done for “I understand”!
So happy this is back
