This morning sees the official launch of the 57th BFI London Film Festival, as the full programme is announced at a press event in Leicester Square. We’ll have an on-the-spot report from the launch later in the day, but our London Film Festival coverage is already live on the Time Out website, where you can find reviews and write-ups of the biggest films, our pick of the five films to look forward to in each of the 12 festival categories, plus FAQs and info on how to get tickets and get involved.

It’s a genuinely impressive lineup this year, from top-flight Hollywood offerings like opening film ‘Captain Phillips’ (above) and gala screenings ’Gravity’ and ‘Labor Day’, via the best of new British cinema with Steve Coogan in ‘Philomena’, Tom Hardy in road drama ‘Locke’ and gritty Scottish sci-fi ‘Under the Skin’, to a smorgasbord of world cinema greats including Time Out’s own gala screening ‘Blue is the Warmest Colour’.

The London Film Festival kicks off on October 9, but in the meantime keep checking timeout.com/lff for more reviews, news and interviews as they come in.
