Went from my favorite to most hated...
I used to love this app. Loved reading issues on my iPad while traveling, while drinking my coffee on my couch, relaxing in my backyard, lying in bed, etc. In March 2014 this app crapped out on me and has not worked at all since. It's now June 23, 2014!!!
Just got off the phone with their it support, for the 2nd time in the last 3 months and the guy was trying to blame this situation on me. I cited all the poor reviews on here and he told me that those are only 13 bad reviews out of over a million happy users. THAT'S BS!
NY MAG: Fix the app already. This is insane. I'm sorry for ever using the app, because I'd probably be happy with the paper version only. Sorry for rambling but fix this thing and don't have your it support give your subscribers the runaround. The runaround I got from your it guy was just low class.
Awful; compelled me to write first ever review
I have never before written a review - for anything - but this rip-off of an app and online magazine has compelled me to do so. I can almost completely echo the other recent negative reviews; clearly none of us are experiencing isolated issues (I subscribe to dozens of magazine, trade publication and newspaper apps and have never experienced issues with any of them). I have been able to access only a couple of New York Magazine issues since I began my PAID subscription 5 months ago (and then it's 500mb per issue). The app crashes, cannot be reloaded, fixed or made to work, support is non-existent etc., etc. I am literally paying for nothing!
Simply stay away from this app and the attendant experience. You've been warned.

Customer service from these people is non-existent. This app stopped working properly when the publication moved to twice a month from weekly and I have not been able to access any of the issues I have paid for for well over two months. I have followed all of the steps to re-install the app several times, and have called the support line and even spoke to Ryan whose boredom and lack of concern oozed through the phone line. To add further insult, my credit card was automatically charged for renewal, which required more time than than should have been spent to reverse the charge.
