cheap thrills

In the mood for a bit of affordable gig action this week? Then get a load of these..

Central:
Slow Club at 100 Club

The boy-girl indie-folk duo play a London date to launch their third album, cracking out sweet, Bright Eyes-style tunes. Monday July 14, £10.

South:
Teeth Of The Sea at Corsica Studios

Fabulously unsettling, thrilling and mournful noises from the London quartet, who switch between psychedelic drone-rock, electronic ambience and violent, EBM-influenced synthpop in a heartbeat. Saturday July 12, £8.

North:
Miryam Solomon at The Forge

Beautifully voiced Eritrean singer Solomon performs in her native Tigrinya language as well as English, sounding both rootsy and urban. Thursday July 10, £7.

 East:
King Khan And The Shrines at The Blues Kitchen Shoreditch

An intimate gig by the raucous exponents of Stooges-like garage rock, twisted funk and psychedelic soul, who guarantee a sweaty good time. Friday July 11, £5 adv, free before 9.30pm.

West:
Chris McDonald at The Elgin

He may just be a dude with a guitar, but this strummer has a pretty exceptional voice – Bon Iver and Ray LaMontagne spring to mind – and songs to match. Thursday Jul 10, FREE!
