These Boris Bikes look beastly

In an attempt to transform our bulky, bland, Barclays badge-bearing Boris Bikes into things of beauty, Hackney toymakers are attempting to raise £37,500,000 (yes, you read that right!) to transform them into bike beasts. That’s right, Tell Tails want to give the bikes an animal paint job and the new addition of a tail.

Nope, we’re aren’t telling tall tales, it’s all part of the Indigogo campaign to become the next sponsors for Boris Bikes and its already got 82 backers and BBC 6 Music DJ Cerys Matthews tweeting about it. Plus we hear that slebs like Kate Winslet, Simon Pegg and Prince Harry are big fans of the adult animal tails made by the toymakers. Make of that what you will. If, somehow, this idea is a roaring success, TfL will have to let Tell Tails go wild with the bikes and all of the docking points, pay terminals and staff uniforms that go with them!

Director of Tell Tails Michael O’Shea says that reaching the staggeringly large goal will ‘send a message to TfL and the Mayor of London that people don’t want the names of large banking corporations splashed all over London.’ It’s a quirky idea, but we’re pretty sure the novelty of Boris Beasts tails wagging around the roads will wear off a little too soon.
