Gisborne and Hawkes BayMostly cloudy, with isolated light showers mainly north of Napier. Showers increasing from tomorrow afternoon and turning to rain in Gisborne at night.
From Waitomo and Taupo down to Wellington, also Wairarapa and the entire South IslandFine, with frosts in many places overnight and morning. However, a few coastal showers near Foveaux Strait.
Chatham IslandsCloudy periods, with the odd shower.
North Island, rain or showers north of Gisborne to Waitomo,as well as in Hawkes Bay, but clearing from Waikato to Taupo. Mainly fine elsewhere. South Island, showers about the south coast clearing. Mainly fine elsewhere.
TuesdayA few showers in eastern areas from Northland to Coromandel Peninsula, and in Gisborne and Hawkes Bay. Mainly fine elsewhere.
WednesdayNorth Island, a few showers north of Auckland, otherwise mainly fine. South Island, rain developing in Westland and Fiordland, with a few spots in the far south later. Fine with increasing high cloud elsewhere.
Chatham IslandsCloudy at times, with a few showers on Monday and Tuesday. Fresh southwesterlies, dying out on Wednesday.
