For the entire South IslandMainly fine with frosts morning and night. However, a few showers for southern Fiordland and coastal Southland.
Chatham IslandsCloudy periods, with the odd shower.
North Island, rain or showers north of Gisborne to Waitomo,as well as in Hawkes Bay, but clearing from Waikato to Taupo. Mainly fine elsewhere. South Island, showers about the south coast clearing. Mainly fine elsewhere.
TuesdayA few showers in eastern areas from Northland to Coromandel Peninsula, and in Gisborne and Hawkes Bay. Mainly fine elsewhere.
