A Tauranga man suffered multiple injuries after he fell down several stairs at the summit of Mauao.
The 63-year-old dislocated a thumb, suffered cuts to his scalp and injuries to his arm when he fell about 6pm on Wednesday.
A St John ambulance spokesman said the man became distracted and fell forward about 3m down the large steps at the top of Mauao.
The man was was taken to Tauranga Hospital for treatment.
