Pop stars are famous for their outrageous requests of luxuries that must be placed in their dressing rooms ahead of a performance.

But chart-topper Katy Perry can take pride in the fact she isn't one of them.

According to celebrity website TMZ, the I Kissed A Girl star made a very health-conscious rider when she appeared at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas recently.

The website claim that her list included fresh veggies at all times such as spinach, broccoli, celery, beets, carrots and kale.

She also orders two large baskets of fruit - one tropical, while dinner must include a vegetarian option with quinoa or couscous.

They add that all meals must be low-fat and health conscious and cannot contain MSG.

According to the article, Perry also demands: fresh organic grown fruit (including sliced pineapple, mango, kiwis, etc), fresh cut crudites (cucumber, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, snap peas & celery), healthy granola, dried figs, whole grain tortilla chips, large bowl hummus and fresh made guacamole.

She also requested bottles of wine - specifically, Pinot Grigio and Argentine Malbec.

The rider pales in comparison to some of the demands made by her peers.

Mariah Carey is said to have commanded Cristal champagne, one box of bendy straws, one special attendant to dispose of used chewing gum, tea service for eight, a Honey Bear pack of honey, two air purifiers and kittens.

Meanwhile, the Arctic Monkeys opted for Special K cereal, Crunchy Nut Cornflakes, two cooked chickens, a novel of the venue's choice, two cases of cider, Wrigley's Extra chewing gum and a novelty Yo-Yo.

Perry recently revealed that she completed a three-month teetotal detox as part of her recovery from a difficult emotional period.

The 29 year-old, who publicly split from ex-husband Russell Brand in 2011, made the confession on British chat show Alan Carr: Chatty Man.

She replied: "I surrounded myself with my good friends, I did this whole cleanse where I didn't have any of the alcohol for three months - that was devastating. I did vitamins and supplements, and hikes and meditation and prayer.

"But I think at the end of it all, as much as the things I did, I think there was something cosmically happening that was looking out for me in some ways, but I was putting my best positive foot forward."
