It really doesn’t matter how they do it – a Don’t Bring Your Mates intervention, a family group conference, one-on-ones with Nigel Latta or clubbing one another over the head with hardback copies of Who Moved My Cheese? – but our politicians are in serious need of cognitive therapy and counselling. It’s amazing how blunt and rude they can be to one another, while tenderly tiptoeing around painful home truths that if administered in a timely fashion would save them all so much heartbreak.
