Tell us about the new-look group you’re bringing to New Zealand. It’s an acoustic quartet – two guitars, accordion and double bass – that started out playing for a bit of fun here in Perth, where I’ve lived since 1986. We play music from the gypsy jazz repertoire inspired by Django Reinhardt and Stéphane Grappelli, who founded the Quintette du Hot Club de France in the 1930s. Is gypsy jazz a new interest for you?
