What is the Amazon Trade-In Program?
The Amazon Trade-In Program allows customers to receive an Amazon.com Gift Card in exchange for over a million eligible items including DVDs, CDs, video games, electronics, and books. The process is easy and convenient with free shipping, an immediate offer, and no required registration or listing. What Electronics can I Trade in?You can trade in iPhones, iPads, Kindles, Laptops, MacBooks, iPods, GPS devices, Cameras, and much more. In fact, we recently added 4 new exciting categories to the Trade-In catalog: Headphones, Speaker Docks, Blu-Ray Players, and Wireless Routers. Browse the menu on your left to see more. What do I need to do if I’m trading in my phone? Before you mail in your phone, you should call your carrier and make sure your account is deactivated. Also, remove all personal information from your device. What does it mean to "Lock in an offer until October 15th"?For a limited time only, you have until October 15th, 2013 to mail in your device. If it meets or exceeds the product eligibility criteria, Amazon will issue you a gift card for the amount originally communicated. For example, if you're trading in your iPhone, you can lock in a price today, and you don't have mail it in until October 15th, which gives you plenty of time to get your new iPhone. What happens to the data on my device? All devices with memory storage are wiped and all data is cleared. How long will it take to receive payment once I trade in my item?
Depending on your location, Trade-in submissions may take up to 10 business days to arrive before your submission is processed. The packages you sent can be tracked anytime in Your Trade-in Account.
After submitting a trade-in, you can print a pre-paid UPS shipping label for sending in all your items, so shipping is completely free. There are no other fees. If a trade-in item is not accepted and is returned to you, there is no cost for return shipping either. |
What condition do my items need to be in?
All items must be in at least Acceptable condition and the item you wish to trade in must match the exact version displayed in the Trade-In search results or on the product page on Amazon.com. Please check carefully to verify details like color, GB size, and edition, as we cannot accept items that differ from the product page. You can find the full condition descriptions by visiting our Eligible Products and Condition Criteria page. What do I do if I lost my shipping label?
You can print a shipping label by going to Your Trade-in Account and clicking the Print Shipping Label button on the trade-in order. Please note that you must print your shipping label within 7 days of creating your trade-in order.
If your item is not listed in the Trade-In Store, then we currently do not have an offer for it. However the Trade-In program is being constantly updated with new titles, so check back regularly, or email us at ce-tradein-feedback@amazon.com Do you guarantee the Trade-In price listed on your website?Yes, if your trade-in meets or exceeds the product eligibility criteria, and is shipped by October 15th, 2013. Who do I contact with questions about my trade-in?
The most recent status of your trade-in is available online anytime in Your Trade-in Account.
