We didn’t think we’d ever get a rush on brussels sprouts in FoodHub, but both our Bite editor Jo Elwin and Depot chef Kyle Street confess to secret love affairs with that much maligned brassica. So here are some of our favourite new twists on brussels sprouts for autumn – including Kyle’s boss Al Brown’s bruschetta topper, some lovely roasted versions with hazelnuts or garlic, and a mozzarella winter salad. If you prefer your healthy with a sweeter twist, we’ve got some baked treats to make with the kids. Nadia Lim reminds us these are some-time treats, not all-the-time staples. Play around with fresh juice jellies, the goodness of blueberries (use a wholemeal flour to boost fibre) or a beaut dairy-free choc mousse.

Let us know how you adapt your favourite sweet recipes to add a dollop of healthy goodness on Facebook or here on the site.
