Hawke’s Bay Today is the principal news media service within the Hawke’s Bay Region.  Our daily newspaper is read on average by 61,000 people every day*, the Hawke’s Bay Today website keeps the region informed with up to the minute news and reaches over 21,000¹ unique browsers per week.  You can also be part of our growing social media content by following us on Facebook and Twitter.

Through these sources and via our stable of free community titles: Napier Courier (weekly on Wednesday), Hastings Leader (weekly on Wednesday) Havelock North Village Press (fortnighly on Tuesday) and CHB Mail (weekly on Tuesday), we provide a comprehensive and wide range of news, firmly focussed on Hawke’s Bay as well as being a window to the wider world.

Hawke’s Bay Today is an active member of a large and varied community providing quality news, opinion and entertainment that reflects the passions and interests of the region. Hawke’s Bay Today is published six days a week with a compact newspaper Monday-Friday and a broadsheet on Saturday.

 Our physical distribution covers from Mahia in the north to Dannevirke in the south and from the central ranges in the west to all along the East Coast.

Our feature reading includes Sports Extra – the wrap up of the weekend’s action plus Health and Fitness on Mondays, Business Extra and Bargain Tuesday free classifieds every Tuesday, and  Arts and Lifestyle on Wednesdays. Heartland rural news and Vibe your guide to what’s on in the Bay reaches an expanded market every Thursday, real estate guides, Driven our new motoring magazine and Outdoors and Racing on Fridays and Indulge magazine- your guide to Hawke’s Bay on Saturday.

Hawke’s Bay Today also produces the Dannevirke News with a dedicated page within Hawke’s Bay Today (Monday - Friday) and a special compact pullout section on a Saturday for our readers in the wider Dannevirke area.

We have published in various guises since Hawke’s Bay's first newspaper, a Saturday morning weekly named the Hawke’s Bay Herald and Ahuriri Advocate, which rolled off the presses in Napier on September 24th 1857. Hawke’s Bay Today is a modern media source with strong links to our region’s past.
